Here we go ladies, a brand new sparkly thread that should see us all into our 2nd trimester Smile

Many thanks for the warm welcomes Smile

I've felt lots of movements this evening, I was sitting in quite a twisted position which is why I think I felt it so much.

I second the name suggestion!! especially as I still haven't bought much as too indecisive so I'm hoping for lots more shopping inspiration!

Poodle82 · 07/01/2011 10:46

Good name suggestion Frakk.
I've not been on here for a while so just caught up on all the news. Can't beleive we are reaching the third trimester now.

I had my 28 week midwife appointment yesterday and all was fine - apparantly baby is head down with bum at top and legs jabbing into my right hand side which explains the discomfort and strange shapes. Have started having difficulty sleeping in last few weeks as can't get comfortable but suppose being weaned off long night sleeps might be useful before the birth.

Have started shopping too. Got a Mamas and Papas Joolz pushchair before christmas as was ex-display and half price with all the accessories thrown in. Also have nursery furniture as ordered the Humphreys Corner mothercare set which is now all set up. My lovely mil came down to visit over new year with a second hand crib and with loads of 0-3 babygrows and outfits that her littlest boys had used. Spent an evening folding it all into the cupboard and getting emotional over how small and sweet everything was Blush.

I can second the mid upper back pain. I managed to slip and completely pull my back just there yesterday. Sad

Am off work today after a hospital visit ended with the advice to rest and apply heat. I so miss pain killers!

I also love the new thread name. Is it me or is time starting to race?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/01/2011 15:51

Good title suggestion Frakk, now go create the new thread Grin

My sleep has been awful too. If I'm not having rude dreams I'm having dreams that wake me up and leave feeling anxious. It's bloody annoying tbh, I'm a cow when I'm tired.

My hormones are also all over the place and turning me into an emotional wreck. Whilst ds had his nap today I watched a Glee repeat and sobbed when they song a song to their coach. I also had to stop watching Marley & Me last night because it was upetting me. DH just looked at me like this Hmm, I guess he's used to it because in the last 5 years I have only spent 8 months not being pg or breastfeeding.

Oh dear cycle, I hope your back gets better soon. All aches and pains seem to intensify when you're pg - just to make not being able to take much pain relief even worse.

And yes, time is starting to race. I have realised I really need to start getting my shit together and go through all of the stuff I've got. I've made a start my ordering some newborn nappies with my next grocery shop. I suppose I could also order some super duper absorbant sanitary towels as well - oh joy.

Oh yes, there's another tip there. Don't bother with maternity sanitary towles, just buy the most absorbant towels you can get - the nightime ones I think.

I haven't had the sweats ante-natally (yet), but by God I've had them post-natally both times before. I would wake up drenched and would have to towel myself down. I think it's the body's way of getting rid of the extra water you retain while pregnant. The post-natal wee volumes were something you would expect from an elephant as well, they'd go on and on. TMI? Probably, but you wait and see Grin

The rude dreams aren't just me then? Phew!

They're not always rude but they're really vivid. I'm never pregnant in any of my dreams either. When I stir and realise I can't turn over in bed it's always a shock Smile

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 07/01/2011 16:17

Ready and waiting for lots more chat!

It'll probably take a while to move everyone over!

BeetleBaby · 07/01/2011 17:20

Ooo time for a new thread already! And a very good name choice Frakk

I've been having some particularly vivid dreams too...which is annoying as I'm too tired and usually in too much pain with my back/hips to contemplate any night time action. Poor DH is being very understanding, I think I'm the more sexually frustrated of the two of us right now!

I've been off work today after having such a bad dizzy spell waiting for the bus that I was clutching the bus stop to stay upright! Went to the GP who told me to rest with my feet up and to say no to doing so much stuff. He thinks I'm probably anemic which is annoying as I thought I was doing well keeping my levels up.

Ho hum, best get back to resting as we're taking our Brownie pack to see a panto on Sunday and I don't want to miss it, there are REAL PONIES on stage!! Grin

Hello,
Not been on for a while.

Had a 4d scan last week which was amazing and confirmed that we're bucking the april trend and expecting a girl! Also showed that the baby is head down at the moment.

Like a lot of you feeling pretty tired and not sleeping brilliantly. Got a dream genii pillow which has helped a bit but still keep waking up lying on my back!

Made quite a few purchases now - this is first baby so need everything! :

Buggy - gone for Quinny Buzz 3 with maxi cosy cabriofix carseat

Moses basket - M&P - bedtime hugs

Bedding - M&P and Mothercare

Cotbed - Kub madera with matching changing dresser

Mattress - Silent Night Little Roo

Bouncer - Winnie the pooh one from Argos

Clothes - various M&S, Next, TK Maxx and hand downs from friends

Haven't bought bottles, steriliser etc but thinking of going for TT.

Other than that just the smaller stuff to get.

Feeling baby move quite a bit now which is good. Had a panic yesterday as fell over but luckily fell up some stairs at work so landed on my hands and knees and not bump! Still worries till I felt baby again though.

Hope everyone's getting on ok. Got my next scan next week - will be 7 mnths - and the mw the week after. This is all going very fast! Smile
