Here we go ladies, a brand new sparkly thread that should see us all into our 2nd trimester Smile

Many thanks for the warm welcomes Smile

I've felt lots of movements this evening, I was sitting in quite a twisted position which is why I think I felt it so much.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/10/2010 20:05

Is someone going with you frakk? It doesn't sound like the sort of meeting you should be attending alone.

The other person could also be your spokesperson if you are finding it difficult to communicate.

Another idea could be to write a list of questions. That way, if you are finding it difficult to talk, you can always point at the question.

Well done for organisig the meeting and asking for help, I imagine it's a huge step for you. I'll be sending you strength vibes on Friday xxx

Hi all,

Just thought I'd drop in - I was on the original April thread right at the beginning but I had a mc in the early days. I thought I'd let you know that I'm now 9 weeks pregnant with identical twins who are due in May! Smile

Hope you are keeping well,

kittycatcat · 26/10/2010 20:50

snowfalls that is fantastic news, so pleased for you. Thanks for letting us know.
frak thinking of you. Hope you have support for your meeting.

JustKeepSparkling · 26/10/2010 21:08

Frakk - hope the meeting goes ok

Snowfalls - wow! fantastic news!!! Good luck & will keep an eye out for you.:)

MrsWajs · 27/10/2010 02:52

re: bumps. I do seem to be filling out a bit but not sure if it's baby or just fat!?! It does feel quite hard nearer my pelvic area but anything above the belly button I'm pretty sure is just blubber!

Heard today that DP may very well lose his job before xmas :( Totally freaking out about it, this will be the second time this year he has been made redundant. Stupid economy.

He got another job very quickly the first time (in April) but don't think it's going to be quite so easy November/December time, really don't what we'll do as what I earn doesn't stretch far enough to support us both.

kittycatcat · 27/10/2010 08:29

Oh god MrsWajs, stress you dont need :(

Cyclebump · 27/10/2010 09:28

Job stress is definitely not what you need! Hope you're keeping well.

According to DP, my bump is now 'like a bowling ball' and I am 'way heavier'. Charming Hmm

I hav my appointment with the consultant anaesthetist on Monday so see whether my back and spine issues will prevent the option of an epidural. Fingers crossed not. I may have to have an elective cs and I really don't want to be knocked out for it!

ecuse · 27/10/2010 09:57

snowfalls that's such fantastic news, congratulations!

gormers · 27/10/2010 10:16

Congratulations snowfalls, so pleased for you!!

Hope all goes well at your appointment frak, big hugs.

MrsWajs - fingers crossed that your dp isn't affected by the job issue, you could really do without that.

Haven't been on for ages, but nothing has changed - still vomiting like it's going out of fashion!! Surely it's got to end soon!! Definitely have a bump now, which seemed to appear out of nowhere - but still not big enough to fit maternity clothes. So normal clothes with the button undone it is then!!

frakkinstein · 27/10/2010 14:23

Ohhh MrsWajs that is totally stress you don't need. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to anything.

Thanks for all the good wishes for the appointment. DH is coming with me and I have a list of things (well several lists - a list of triggers, a list of the various ways I might freak out, a list of preventative measures....) that I need to discuss and questions that I need answered. Time will tell I suppose.

frakkinstein · 27/10/2010 14:24

Oh and congrats snowfalls! ID twins is very exciting news!

hippy3 · 27/10/2010 19:20

jesus !! have just spent the last half hour catching up on all the news, how long have I been away for. Hi to the new people... snowfalls congrats on your news, i too am having id twins ! Smile exciting but scary!

Whats new with me..not a lot, Sickness seems to have passed. Dont feel so tired am DEFFINATLY starting to show. My bump is much bigger at the end of the day..anyone else??

My boobs are still sore and ive gone up two cup sizes Smile am delighted as have always had hardly any boobs ! so is DP.

Um...my boss said today that they are asking the main man if they can take me on on a temporary contract until the end of january, instead of me working through the agency. Fingers crossed for me. I work in the public sector and things are awful at the moment..so am praying that they can its a bit more stable for me. ..or else I might be gone in the next few weeks!Hmmthey cant justify paying my agency how much I cost which i totally understand given the current climate.

Hopefully ill be kept on though, my boss is fighting my corner. The main man doesnt know im pregnant my boss decided he didnt need to know..wish me luck... good to be back !

kittycatcat · 27/10/2010 20:03

Good luck hippy
I came home tonight to find Lad with a 14 year old unconscious girl lying in my road . I stayed with them until the ambulance and Police came. Looks like an overdose. So sad :-(

MuffinMouse · 27/10/2010 21:11

Oh Kittycatcat how horrible for everyone. Poor kid(s).

MrsWajs - rotten of them to threaten to do it at Xmas! Hope it all works out ok.

Big congrats Snowfalls Brilliant news.

Frakk Don't know if this will help - but if you really don't want to recount unpleasant experiences (if I am understanding you correctly) - why not point out that talking about traumatic experiences can create similar stress hormones in the brain as the experience itself? If professionals just need to know as background, (to make a referral for support etc), and you dont want to go over the original experience, could your DP outline it for you - or another professional?? (They might need the details re the impact of the PTSD on your life now though). Apols if this isn't helpful, as I don't know the details. Hope it all goes ok.

As far as bumps go - my big belly (pre-pregnancy) has also been pushed upwards so that I have a large hardish bump under my boobs. Weird. Boobs have gone up two sizes and I look like Hattie Jakes in those Carry on Films. Wish I could have one of those unswollen pregnancies with just a basket ball in front of a slim body (Reaches for the cake)

SaltedPretzels · 27/10/2010 21:55

LOL MuffinMouse I have a kidney shaped bump, guess my stretch marks from DD 1+2 have weakened the old structure, instead of a football it's a cheesy wosit shape, speaking of which (crunch, brush dust off boob tray)!

Boobs, wow humongous! Went into Mothercare for a sizing as my bra's give me the 4 boob sexy look and I'm a....(drum roll) wait for this and stand back if I turn round to tell you

G Cup! Shock

I was a B Cup before children!!!!!

No wonder my back hurts and my boobs sting in the morning if I've rolled on my front in the night, ouch. Worrying thought... they are meant to grow again at around 19 weeks, I hope mine choose another part of my body to grow on cos I'm all outta room in these boulder holders lol.

Snowfalls So, so happy for you that's nice of you to share, big smiles for some good news. Take care of your little brood, good luck x

Hippy Good luck, but it's nice news so they have to take it well, it's the law!

Kitty Jeepers, scary and really very sad for all involved, I hope they get a second chance, it's not nice to witness for you but at least they weren't alone. I hope you have sweet dreams x

BeetleBaby · 28/10/2010 07:54

Hi all,

Snowfalls Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your pregnancy and thanks for coming back and updating us with your (double) news!

Salted & MuffinMouse I feel like I'm all boob and bump at the moment! Neither of which are mahoosive but I haven't got a particularly long body so am starting to feel like boobs and bump are merging!

Having said that my bump has shrunk today! Usually I feel very stretched and today I don't. Much more comfortable I admit. Maybe I've just had trapped wind for the last week or so and now it's passed and this is what I'm meant to look like Blush I have felt the baby move, though less than other days this week. Gah! Paranoia of pregnancy strikes again!

kittycatcat · 28/10/2010 08:25

I was wondering about body shape. I am only 4ft11 and my bump seems to be higher than most. I guess its cos i dont have much middle.
Yowzers salted My boobs are also bigger. I did get measured at Bravissimo. they put me in a 34F or FF. I was a 36B. I had to take my buys back tho as the bit that goes between your boobs damaged my skin and hurt me. So i have to find somewhere else now. They also sold me underwired when i had asked about non. She said you can wear them as long as the wire isnt on the milk duct but i just want comfort!!

frakkinstein · 28/10/2010 09:24

I'm convinced my bump is just bloat.... My boobs haven't changed at all though. They feel fuller but bras still fit, wires are lying flat against chest and cups are supportive without the shoulder straps so am forced to conclude there's no change.

Anyway, what I came in to say was bloody midwife has cancelled my appointment just as I was revving up to do it. Such short notice as well!

kittycatcat · 28/10/2010 10:01

Grrrrs on your behalf frakk how enfuriating.

frakkinstein · 28/10/2010 10:05

The slightly worrying thing was she seemed to have no idea why we'd requested it and why moving it was a big deal...

It's the second time she's shifted it and I swear I just want to cry like a baby (except I can't cos I'm at work (even if all the blinkin students are out striking) and it would be bad to shut my door during my 'office hour' where they're supposed to come and see me for help. Bloody ungrateful little buggers never come though.

kittycatcat · 28/10/2010 10:38

Thats not on. Can you request someone else?

frakkinstein · 28/10/2010 11:02

Unfortunately she's the head of midwifery services. I just hope she doesn't end up being the one to follow me - I'd rather have someone I'm comfortable with who doesn't necessarily know it all than someone specialised that I don't like.

SaltedPretzels · 28/10/2010 11:13

Frakk

How frustrating for you, hope the new appointment is soon and that it's a positive one to make up for the mess about.

Kitty
Bra's (I save as much money as I can when I buy things and the savings I put in bump fund) I got measured at Mothercare as they really do know what will happen to your growing boobs, body & baby and can give some pretty useful advice to boot. A 2 pack of bra's would cost £24, then I (I am becoming an ebay queen lol) but I did get the same bra's brand new and boxed for £5.50 including postage! Bonus! Pregnancy doesn't have to be expensive if you have the time to shop about, but if you don't I'd recommend Mothercare.

Oh speaking about sizing, don't forget if you get measured in one shop it's unlikely that your the same size in another shop, M&S for example have me in a 40GG on the middle hook and eye and they are not as soft on your skin yet Mothercare I'm a 36G and the Mothercare has a little room to fill and is on the inside hook and eye so plenty of adjustment left.

My bump only appears bigger because this is baby No3 and my body is pretty much going into autopilot and giving baby a penthouse instead of an armchair!

Two things I swear by though, stretch mark lotion (only have four marks!!) and perineal oil, never a cut but have had a graze or two, but thank goodness no stitches or torn tissue, that's my fear, having a doughnut cushion and stinging wee for weeks, ouch (squirming at the thought)!

Hope alls good in the world today, off to view a new house (fingers crossed as we are fast running out of rooms)!

kittycatcat · 28/10/2010 11:16

Good luck with the house Salted and thanks for the tips. i too love a bargain so will get sized and have a nose :) cheers x

frakkinstein · 28/10/2010 11:55

Perineal oil? Have never heard of that but terrified of tearing! Is that something you use to help with perineql massage?
