This is a thread for anyone who has lost a child or been affected by the loss of a child no matter how big or small or how recent or long ago. We understand.

In memory of the light of my life, Lucia, and all of our little ones taken too soon. x

Thinking of my sons who are not physically here - Gareth and Matt - love you boys xxxxxx

woollyjo · 15/06/2010 21:20

Hi all, still lurking, marking my place.

Coming up to Niamh's birthday, thinking about how to mark it.

lavandes · 15/06/2010 21:37

Thankyou crumpette. I have found so much comfort here.

Precious memories of my beloved son Richardxx

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/06/2010 21:40

Well done you Crumpette

Hi woolly, it's lovely to see you. Have you thought about what you would like to do on Niamh's birthday? We always spend the day together doing an activity/going to a place that reminds us C.

shabbapinkfrog · 15/06/2010 21:54

I must admit that I love my sons birthdays.....we always celebrate and try to feel as happy as possible. Its the 'remember days' I find very hard - even after all these years. My candle is burning bright - it smells so lovely - like the seaside - kind of warm sunshine and the sea....I sound totally barking mad now

peterpansmum · 15/06/2010 23:16

Well done Crumpette ... you were top of my list for baton catchers!

Nice to see you Woolly - On what would have been Gregor's 3rd birthday we let 3 eco friendly chinese lanterns go up to join him in heaven "so he could look down and see them" as his big brother said to us x

Sassy - hope you're ok today xx

shabbapinkfrog · 16/06/2010 06:38

Morning girls xx

lottiejenkins · 16/06/2010 07:59

Morning all x

peterpansmum · 16/06/2010 09:43

Morning Ladies x Feeling slightly more 'up' today than yesterday and a teensy bit virtuous too.... Washing done and out, dishes done, plants and sunflowers all watered, remembered to get DS1 out to school on time and with schoolbag..... what could possibly go wrong with the day

How's everyone else doing today?

shabbapinkfrog · 16/06/2010 09:54

Lighting my candle for Sassy and her DD today. I know how sad these days are but I wanted to say 'Happy Birthday Catherine' and I know my sons (and all our children) will be looking after her. I think that all our children will have met up and will all be proud of their families for working their way through this quicksand that is otherwise called 'grief.' xxx

peterpansmum · 16/06/2010 10:00

Thinking of Sassy and her darling Catherine who should have been causing havoc and mayhem today celebrating her birthday. Love and hugs Sassy xxxx

shabbapinkfrog · 16/06/2010 10:10

I hope all our children are causing havoc in heaven.....I can just imagine them xx

woollyjo · 16/06/2010 10:22

PPM Dh came back with that idea the other day - where did you get them?

We are so pleased to have little Seren (nearly 3 weeks old now). She is completely different to Niamh which is really nice (Niamh and her big sister were carbon copies of each other as newborns lots of dark hair and olive skinned after DH) Seren has a tinge of ginger in her hair and is fair like me, it makes her absolutely her own person somehow.

xx

A candle is lit here in Sussex for Catherine xx

Huge hugs to you Sassy , I hope you manage to find even just a wee bit of peace today xx

shelleylou · 16/06/2010 11:54

Candle lit in Northants for Catherine.

I just had a random thought. Catherine's a similar age to 1 of my db's neighbours. If she's scared of motorbikes my matty will show her theres nothing to be afraid off.

I'm sure they are shabs. That time of the month where i need to start thinking of getting some Jack Daniels in. The post has made me shed a few tears this week. Only recieved post twice since saturday and on both days I have recieved something for the charity memorial event. Admittedly saturday's was the best. Recieved something from Manchester United (sorry for swearing at you shabs) and some bits for The FA too.

shabbapinkfrog · 16/06/2010 12:11

Man United sent us so much stuff when we were raising money - they were brilliant!

I can see all the older ones looking out for the little 'uns. Bet they have organised something for Catherines special day xx

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2010 12:31

Happy Birthday Catherine.

Acandle will be lit here for you and your mummy and daddy today xxx

shelleylou · 16/06/2010 12:39

lavandes · 16/06/2010 14:29

crumpette · 16/06/2010 15:38

I have lit a candle here in London for Catherine today and for her lovely mummy. Happy birthday Catherine, it is still your birthday today and we are all thinking of you with so much love.

Hi Woolly, sorry i missed your question when i was on earlier... Have a look here: www.skylanternsonline.co.uk/19-metal-free-eco-sky-lanterns/ Think this is where we got them. We actually let them go in the evening before his birthday which was very moving. Was so pleased to hear about Seren xx

Sassy when my grandson arrived this afternoon I lit another candle for all of us....told him it was Catherines birthday....so, in time honoured fashion, as only a 2yr old can do he sang 'Atchy urfday u u, Atchy urfday u u!!
