DS1 was born sleeping **trigger warning - image that some may find upsetting. Trigger warning added by MNHQ**

We lost our first child on Saturday and it still doesn't feel real.

We knew he had a lot of problems and we may have only had a short time, but we didn't get even that. I keep wondering if I'd pushed harder maybe we could have had a few moments.

I keep expecting to feel him kicking in my tummy and there's nothing I want more than to hold him in my arms again.

We're doing a lot better than I expected but I still feel so lost. I just want to see my son. It was also my first pregnancy.

My first child, a daughter called Francesca, was born sleeping at 41
Weeks for reasons they have never been able to establish.
She lives on with us in our memories everyday and her little brother and sister know all about their big sister. She's a big part of our family.
Sending you our love.
The early days following her loss felt like a blur. So unreal.
I also recommend sands. The forums on the website were helpful for us - and if you feel that meeting others then the real
Life meetings were invaluable to us.

My grandmother told me after I lost my son that heaven must be a lovely place, as it's full of people too precious to live on earth. As I get older I think I understand what she meant.

@sosks your baby boy is absolutely gorgeous. What a treasure. If it's ok I will keep you in my prayers when praying for us too.
Thank you for the kind messages from people here about our baby James, they were very comforting to read. Especially your grandma's words @goodeggsarehardtocatch.
Thanks also to bisquick, angelopan and spottyparrott for the messages of support a bit further down this road. I'm very sorry to hear of your losses too and I think this is something that never leaves you, you just get a bit better at learning to live with it I guess.

You were his entire world, literally, you were his everything. Try to take some comfort in the fact his whole life, although very short, was a the blissful loving life inside his mummy. Xx

Our daughter died, she was a few days old and it was the worst thing I've ever faced.

It's been 8 years and I can say it's got a lot easier to deal with but she lives on in my memories and our family.

Sands were a lifeline for me.
