We lost our first child on Saturday and it still doesn't feel real.

We knew he had a lot of problems and we may have only had a short time, but we didn't get even that. I keep wondering if I'd pushed harder maybe we could have had a few moments.

I keep expecting to feel him kicking in my tummy and there's nothing I want more than to hold him in my arms again.

We're doing a lot better than I expected but I still feel so lost. I just want to see my son. It was also my first pregnancy.

@Sosks I am so very sorry to hear about your precious son.

I lost my son too. He was born at 20 weeks, perfectly formed and healthy and breathing and nothing wrong with him. He died shortly after delivery. The hospital failed to pick up an infection I developed despite going to A&E two times in the two weeks before going in to labour...

He was an IVF pregnancy too so very precious to us.

I've been where you are. I've had to sit with the funeral directors and choose what colour casket we'd like (blue with silver handles), if we wanted flowers (yes, a giant flower display in the shape of a teddy bear) etc etc

I had to go to the registry office and sign his birth certificate. DH signed his death certificate as I couldn't bring myself to even look at it.

I've been there.

Please PM me if you're feeling lost or lonely. I'm now in tears reminiscing about my baby boy and the weeks after his death so can only imagine how raw it all is for you The pain will always be there xxxx
