And here's yet another thread. Blimey we can chat!!!! I've been in London the past couple of days, looking forward to catching up on everything....

OP posts:
Nbg · 02/05/2008 19:03

Oooh sparkly new thread

chrissnow · 02/05/2008 19:17

Right then. New thread. Which I won't be using tonight seeing as you've all told me precisely where I should be .
And I could be spending that time developing knitty titty. . . . .

see you all in 10 minutes then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nbg · 02/05/2008 20:33

10 minutes have passed.
What you doing now?

lucykate · 02/05/2008 20:49

found you!, glad to see you back gm

just found my toadstool tutorial featured on craftzine

think i'm most definitely going to have to organise a toadstool swap!

Miaou · 02/05/2008 21:53

I'm up for that. I'll just have to invent an extra, say, four hours in each day I think. That should do it

I have finished machining the panels for my skirt, I am really pleased with it so far! I have also taken lots of pics of me sewing the hair onto my crochet doll for ranting (call it a mini-tutorial!). Shan't be going live with that though; will save it for my patterns I think and email you with the pics, ranting, if that's ok.

Am sniggering still at "knitty titty"

lucykate · 02/05/2008 22:15

ah yes, sewing hair on to dolls is one of those jobs i hate. once it's on, i don't mind trimming it into a style though (closet hairdresser!). one of the dolls i designed for anchor, had to have curly hair which meant unravelling all the wool, it took bleeding ages

how about 'nip one, pearl one' for knitted nipples

chrissnow · 02/05/2008 22:22

all i can say girls . . . .
thank god I didn't get a wii!

"nip one purl one" rofl

Miaou · 02/05/2008 22:28

Ah you see, trimming it would frighten the life out of me lucykate, I would be terrified of giving my doll a bald patch - hence why mine have the hair sewn down all the way round! Am planning quite a "different" hairstyle for my doll-swap doll though.

lucykate · 02/05/2008 22:32

oh crap, i spelt purl wrong didn't i

Miaou · 02/05/2008 22:35

Come and give me some advice on a new sewing machine folksies ... here - I thenk you

vInTaGeVioLeT · 02/05/2008 23:29

i was gonna clean my craftroom tonight but i've accidently got pissed on vodka and now dp has rolled in from the pub work and peep show is on ch4+1 so hey - night night ladies x

chrissnow · 03/05/2008 09:11

After much thought last night . . . (and wine) I decided to branch out on the knitty titty. I could do fluffy muffy and (if I could master amigurami ) also dinky minky and for the ladies maybe even learn crochet and do frilly willy

Ok I promise I'll stop now!!! I have singel handedly lowered the thread.

Nbg · 03/05/2008 09:18

I'm sorry, I cant post on here anymore.
Its just far too rude.

I wont be doing anything now, in the craft sense that is.
I have to do a huge tidy up today as I have all my in laws coming tomorrow and I'm cooking.
I have a chicken thats the size of a donkey and a great big gammon joint.
I have no idea how it is going to fit in the oven.
They will then be taking our dogs and looking after them while we are away.
Then Monday it will be frantic packing and making sure we're ready for a week of hell in Spain
4 children under 4, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

meridian · 03/05/2008 09:20

not done much on the crafting fround.. and DH still editing and tinkering with the holiday photos or I would snaffle some for my blog.. but mostly just tired from the jet-lag still... I did order some beads off etsy and need to do a bigger whole sale order but not feeling terribly crafty yet...and really I should finish sorting out all the holiday clothes and putting the suitcases in the attic.. which means having to go through all the clothes and get out the summer things and pack up the winter things... I really can't be bothered.. might do a spot of gardening instead...

Lovely Dior. Root beer is my fave still. Those stamps seem a real bargain. My local craft stall in the 'market' (aka some market stalls randomly set up along the high street) had some alphabet stamps on special offer of 99p. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get them

vInTaGeVioLeT · 03/05/2008 10:32

i got all excited then but i can't find them on the link

Whizzz · 03/05/2008 11:28

I'm tidying up my craft room conservatory there are so many beads on the floor it's like a roller rink! I MUST also attempt again to clear out some of my card making stuff to make room. I'm going to put my PC in there so I can do my course & have room to put my books.
I'm going to a charity ball tonight BUT have just realised I haven't got jewellery to match (doh!) might see if I can rustle something up later if I have time

chrissnow · 03/05/2008 11:52

sorry vintage - no they're not on there are they but there is loads of other cool stuff. The jewellery making kit for £4.99 looks good for a beginner like me.

Whizzz - know what you mean about having a dumping ground ceaft room . Our spare room is overflowing with fabric/ribbons/card/buttons/beads/sequins/glitter/paint/brushes/pencils . . . . . oh and ironing . DH just sighs and closes the door now

Miaou · 03/05/2008 15:54

It's a nightmare trying to keep tabs on my stuff. We have a cupboard off the living room which houses the computer and a chair; in there I have two shelves for my things. The rest is in bags/boxes on top of wardrobes or in odd shelves here and there. I would love to have it all in one place (a room is too much to ask for though!). I keep thinking, in 10 years' time the dds will have left home so I can use their room, but I daresay the dses will want to purloin it so they don't have to share - so I think I am a long way from having a room of my own (retirement age possibly!)
