I know what I've been meaning to ask, does anyone know where I can buy Doctors Flannel in this country? Or just some flannel come to think of it.

I cant seem to find any.

mistypeaks · 17/06/2008 11:35

If I'd heard of it I'd help!!!

ranting · 17/06/2008 11:35

Is it a surgical thing, I know a woman who works in a private surgery who could probably tell me where to get surgical things.

mistypeaks · 17/06/2008 11:39

I've googled. There are a few fabric shops who do it for making blankets. Some health places that sell it for making poultices. I'll investigate further. . .

Nbg · 17/06/2008 11:43

Ooh thanks.

You know the blog Ric Rac, well she makes her dolls from that fabric and I've been searching for some softer fabric for a while and it wasnt until I read her listings on Etsy that I fund out what she made them from.

It seems to be more popular in the US than over here.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 17/06/2008 14:10

is it stockingette? that's like a flesh peach coloured tshirt fabric?

i too have a misarable face - in fact my mother has been telling me for years to stop frowning or i'll get frown lines {i have now they're horrendous - i need botox!} my answer has always been to her "this is how my face is leave me alone".

mistypeaks · 17/06/2008 14:49

Vintage - I have emailed you.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 17/06/2008 14:59

ditto!!!

Nbg · 17/06/2008 15:14

No its like those sheets you can get for your bed.
Thicker and a bit softer and fluffier than tshirt jersey stuff.

mistypeaks · 17/06/2008 15:34

All of the sites I've looked at are in Australia or USA .

Nbg · 17/06/2008 16:03

I want some!

dizzyday07 · 17/06/2008 16:24

Nbg - Perhaps you could use a flanelette sheet. I know this would be cotton not wool like RicRac but as she's from Oz maybe it's just not something we have here

Nbg · 17/06/2008 18:48

Yes I was thinking that Dizzy.

I may have an old sheet I can have a practice on.
