New Year & a New thread - post what you hope to start/finish this week!

I have bought lots of fabby gemstones & I want to try & make some different types of jewellery, different ways of stringing etc.

DH also bought me some rainbow fluorite & I want to make myself a necklace & bracelet, although am still pondering what style I fancy!

(& my bog is sadly neglected, I must try harder!)

VVV, can I ask a favour? Could you take a couple of pics of the bag I made for you for my blog (when I get round to setting it up )? I didn't get round to taking pics before I sent it to you, sorry!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 04/01/2008 20:32

No problem.

Dingle · 05/01/2008 19:39

Have been very busy here, made quite a few cards; Valentine's Day cards, a few 21st, a mother's day card...... ...lighting awful so I haven't done many pics yet but there are a few on my blog using some feathers from my stash that haven't seen the light of day for years!!!LOL.

Nbg · 05/01/2008 19:47

Aww they are lovely dingle.

I might put an order in with you and Dior in the next few weeks and maybe get cards i need for the year for family etc.

Whizzz · 05/01/2008 19:54

Dingle · 05/01/2008 19:59

Thank you!!

I am soo trying to be organised this year, let's face it, I have failed every other year!LOL

There is a new monthly craft market starting up fairly locally. Not sure how well it will do but the table fees are very reasonable so I thought I would give it a go! I will be running around like a headless chicken in a few weeks!

Gingermonkey · 05/01/2008 21:27

Very lovely DIngle (as always!). I am very impressed with you thinking ahead...I should start really, shouldn't I? Mother's day - crikey, I just remembered I have to go into town some time soon to talk you a local shop that wants a wholesale order for mother's day things (like what though????? HELP!)

I finished my socks!! I am now starting a cardigan for me - am very excited by it (though I think I have gone wrong already and will need to start again )

Whizzz - do you make stitch markers for knitting?

meridian · 06/01/2008 10:58

well i have made a knitted rose to be a brooch but i keep messing up with putting the backing on, there is a picture on my blog but its rubbish as the lighting was crap. I might do some beading after the housework as i have some lovely red agate beads, and i still haven't made anything witht he flourite beads i have and am so tempted because wizzz's are so lovely..

ohh and I got a new book to read through

Anticraft: Knitting, Beading and Stitching for the Slightly Sinister

meridian · 06/01/2008 14:31

Meridian - yours are lovely!
Miaou - stitchmarkers?! After having a Google, I'm sure I could do something - a basic ring (how big would it need to be?) with beady bits or charms on ?
Like these? I am shocked at the prices on there to be honest ! I have some of those Murano hearts too... will get back to you

meridian · 06/01/2008 19:11

dior- thank you

wizzz- thanks, and having looked at the stitch markers i think perhaps jewelry making isn't where the money is geeze...

GreebosWhiskers · 06/01/2008 19:50

Have finished my square for the Pratchgan 2008 & have blogged it here

Gingermonkey · 06/01/2008 21:27

lol, I just ate a packet of mince pies LK

Tillyboo · 06/01/2008 22:04

If any of you lovely ladies wants a nosey, I have resurrected and updated my Etsy shop.

You can have a peep here

Right, I can concentrate on Foyles War now

jeangenie · 06/01/2008 22:20

I've been eating waaaay too much too, but not drnking alcohol for January so I guess the calories should hopefully even out

tilly - the shop looks great. well done

GW the prachett square looks great too - good luck with that! Glad you liked the photo of the brooch. I want to improve my camera skills this year so am taking lots of photos at the mo.

dior - what's your blog addy again? it's helpful (and not considered braggy at all!) to post it when you mention you've bloged something as then we can all immediately flock there and ooh and aaah

in that spirit, I have updated my blog with not very much at all apart from some stamping but you are welcome to have a look (I don't expect any oohing or aahing mind you). After all the frenzy before Xmas I am in total hibernation/bed early mode and not doing much crafting at all. I must wait for the muse to hit me on the head, or my mojo. Whichever gets there first!

Miaou · 06/01/2008 22:27

Yes, that's the ones Whizzz! I nearly fainted at the prices too

If I asked you for eight of them, nothing special, and not matching (it's helpful to be able to think, eg, the red one marks the increase etc) how much would you want for them?

Will look at the photos of everyone's stuff later - off to watch the rest of Foyle's War now!

Gingermonkey · 06/01/2008 22:59

Blooming heck miaou - how much?! Someone is making a fortune out of those, methinks!!!
TB - the shop looks lovely, I love the bunnies.

maximummummy · 06/01/2008 23:29

being a non-knitter and feeling a bit thick WHAT are these stitch markers for?
