Weekly Challenge Thread (New one, can't find old one ????)

692 replies

Tillyboo · 11/10/2007 17:51

I don't know what's going on but this is the third post I've tried. If this fails I'm going to give up.

Anyway, I can't seem to find the old thread for some reason, my laptop is doing funny things so maybe it's at my end?

Anyway, I cannot see what you all have achieved so far this week but here is my blog with what I have done or you can have a peep in my profile but the pictures are quite diddy

And I forgot to add that I've to make a dress for DDs' pre-school Halloween party!!

GreebosWhiskers · 25/10/2007 09:23

For this week;

2 more belts (my buckles arrived & they're fab

2 more hairbands

A soft toy

Finish those darn Halloween bags

Get dh to show me how to work his camera so I can finally post pics on my blog.

Oh and have a look into setting up on Etsy - thanks for the tips GingerMonkey

GreebosWhiskers · 25/10/2007 09:26

Dizzy - a tarzan loincloth

The mind boggles.

It's not for dh is it?

dizzyday07 · 25/10/2007 10:07

GW - what a thought!!!

No it's far a little boy who's mad on Tarzan. So i've got a pair of pants and I need to attach some faux fur fabric to them and - taa daa - a loincloth - well that's the theory!!

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 25/10/2007 10:07

dizzy - loincloth?! lol! BTW - the cushions arrived and are lovely and perfect and fab - thanks very much Now I just need to decide what I am going to applique on......

This week I will be making an emu, now I have finally decided upon what colour beak she will have (I decided I didn't like the original choice) and some...hang on, I'll do a list;

:: Emu

:: Corsages

:: Christmas Decorations

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 25/10/2007 10:08

poo, I forgot...

:: 2 x halloween outfits for DD and friend

Tillyboo · 25/10/2007 13:51

I'm just trying to erase the image of MY hubby in a loincloth ....

It would be the funniest thing ever !!!!

OP posts:
lucykate · 25/10/2007 13:57

try thinking of brad pit in that loin cloth thingy in the film 'troy'

Dingle · 25/10/2007 16:50

All this talk of loin cloths...I'd say I'd better get the whip out and focus you all back onto crafting but goodness knows what imaginations we would all have then!!

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 25/10/2007 22:12

is it just me, or do you hate the new way MN is laid out - I haven't changed anything and it's gone all weirdy. I fear change!!!

dizzyday07 · 25/10/2007 23:35

What are you lot like - the loincloth is for a six year old boy!!

I've put pics here

The fabric turned out to be more "teddy bear" coloured that I was hoping for but hopefully he won't care!!

I just cut a shape and attached the top edge to a pair of pants (as in 2nd pic) so it would be easier to slip on and off

Tillyboo · 26/10/2007 08:22

I really don't like the new lay out and have tried to change it back t the old classic style (as prompted) but it hasn't changed anything !

What has it been changed, it's very confusing having the newest threads right at the bottom of the last page - what a faff !

OP posts:
Pixiefish · 26/10/2007 08:33

I made 12 Christmas planners for dd'sschool Christmas Fair- early I know but I'm going into hospital on Monday to be induced

GreebosWhiskers · 26/10/2007 09:57

Tilly - I've changed most of it back but the colours are still a bit strange. Are you remembering to save your changes? Also you have to click on MN classis style & change all the other bits (colour, no of posts per page etc) individually. MN what's going on? I liked things the way they were.

(I flounced out of Bounty when they changed it - no-one noticed lol Still, at least there are no bloody tickers here.)

From the neck up my dh looks like Tarzan from the Disney cartoon. From the neck down however . . .

I would like to see him in a loincloth though

Tillyboo · 26/10/2007 14:45

GW - I have managed to change everything back to how it was bar the colours too.

Wonder why they changed it ?

OP posts:
GingermonkeySucksBlood · 26/10/2007 17:49

I've changed it back too, but it's still a bit weird!
TB, do you still want e to get you some lights from Ikea? Let me know, I was going this week, then remembered it was half term, so I'll pop up next week instead!

Tillyboo · 26/10/2007 19:45

Hi GM, sounds like you didn't get my email ??

The gist of the email was :

I discovered IKEA delivers to my postcode (they didn't last time we looked) so I was going to order them online BUT, hubby has come home tonight and said he'd take me to the Bristol IKEA on Sunday as he wants to check something out for work. Yippee ... I'm going to look at the fabric, the lights, the Crimbo decs, the childrens stuff, ooh, actually everything bar the cutlery !

Thx so much for offering tho, you're a star !

DD is in the bath and I've nearly finished my new little bunny

OP posts:
Dingle · 26/10/2007 20:30

Oh dear- this is going to take some getting used to!!

How are we all doing, I can't believe the weekend is upon us already and my to do list has hardly been touched. Done quite a bit of knitting, painted the second coat on the skirtings boards in our bedroom and made 2 Xmas cards. That's about it! Got electricians and plasterers around again tomorrow so the house will still be in chaos- can't see me meeting my goals this week either!

GingermonkeySucksBlood · 27/10/2007 10:22

Thats excellent news TB - you'll be stuck in there all day!!! There is some lovely fabric in the kiddies section btw, in pre cut bolts of 3m (I think), for a fiver. I got a couple for the Monkey's bedroom but there were some nice, more subtle and less moomin-like prints too! The bedding is always good for cutting up and turning into something else too (it's so cheap!)

Have a great day!!

lucykate · 27/10/2007 12:23

no crafting here, we have visitors and house a mess due to dh & stepdad fitting a radiator in porch.

too tired (ds still poorly) to get my head round the new layout, have just clicked to revert back to classic mn for now

Tillyboo · 27/10/2007 18:21

Not a lot of crafting going on today I'm afraid.

We've had a fantastic days racing at Newbury Races, dd had two winners and a second. Not bad for a 3.6 year old, mind you she started her racing days at just 6 weeks old so she's quite an old hand really !
Anyway, I managed to stitch up 'Bunny' quickly this morning.

He's only tiny but very cute me thinks, especially his bum

OP posts:
GingermonkeySucksBlood · 27/10/2007 23:18

TB, he's lovely!
I've been quite busy today and yesterday, my mojo seems be out in full force
Also got some gorgeous fabric in the post this week, I've got a bit of a needlecord obsession!!!

I've made some christmas decorations, and half an emu, and started some bibs and baby vests AND started thinking about what I am going to applique onto the cushions Dizzy made for me (they are christmas prezzies so no rush for them)

champs · 28/10/2007 16:39

well...... this week, I made.....

A BABY!!!

Whizzz · 28/10/2007 17:25

WOW Champs - huge congrats
