AIBU? Will I get arrested

I’ve just come home from a girls night in London and it was so fun… we left the bar we was in and spent £1000 on brunch in and when we came back the security wouldn’t let us back in. Even though you could book a reservation online.

I was a bit frustrated and said but we’ve spent money in here all day and went to enjoy the rest of our day and spend more? Someone went to check and then another bouncer came out all angry ‘NO REENTRY’ and I asked about 6 times to speak to a manager, which I was told ‘no’ I probably got a bit annoyed but I never was violent or used any threats.

as I walked away I said ‘we’ll spend our money elsewhere then’ and that one bouncer said ‘yeh do!’

my friend went back and felt the need to apologise and the bouncers went ‘don’t worry it’s just him’ and she said she looked at his phone and it said ‘White female, aggressive, police called’

sorry? I wasn’t aggressive, anyway my friend managed to rebook a table in there to prove a point and we went back 30
minutes later and they let us in and we had a great time.

I’ve been up all night, I suffer with anxiety anyway and the police called bit is playing on my mind- my friend told me stop being silly and stop worrying as I’ve done nothing wrong.

but me being me, I’m ofc worrying!

Another thing is bars tend to avoid calling police if they can as to many call outs affect license applications.

CordylineCapybara · Today 09:09

Sounds like you might have ocd and are looking for reassurance

AnnHedonia · Today 09:11

You need to lay off the drinks if it makes you argue with randoms on nights out and spend £1000 on brunch.

Stupid comment. OP obviously didn't spend all that on her own. 🙄

Let’s not try and internet diagnose someone with OCD just because they drank too much, got gobby and regret it

Really hoping none of these crowd have any sole care of children today.

You all sound embarrassing drunks

how old are you?

Ignore this poster. A lot of women on here seem to have a huge problem with anyone having a drink. The amount of posts I've seen on here from women having a fit if their DP goes to the pub....

ChiliFiend · Today 09:18

Thanks. I guess I’m worried they’ll investigate it and do a delayed arrest. I’ll be on edge for a few days

Do you understand that the police have to suspect that you're guilty of a crime before arresting you? What crime do you think they will suspect you have committed?

Skates · Today 09:19

Oh you are definitely going to get arrested. They will probably call MI5 and the SAS will definitely be involved being led by James Bond. Helicopters and fully armed nato troops. Then you will be taken to a black ops site. Interrogated and charged with crimes against humanity and spoiling a girly night out

Ginmonkeyagain · Today 09:21

You are not going to be arrested- if being an annoying prick after a bottomless brunch was a crime half the women out in London on a weekend would be in court..

I hats the time limited bottomless brunch fad, it always results in pissed up groups in bars and streets early evening annoying the crap out of ordinary drinkers.

MrsBatshitRatshit · Today 09:22

Being arrested is not the end of the world; nor, if it comes to that, is having a conviction for a minor public order offence. But neither is likely to happen in your case. If you can't deal with the anxiety, just don't be a dick in public.

Totaldramallama · Today 09:22

For goodness sake. Why didn't you just go somewhere else

Sereine · Today 09:23

I suspect the bouncer was correctly concerned about the fact that the licence terms don't allow them to serve people who are already drunk.

If you get this anxious about what you do when drinking, you need to learn when to stop and go on to the soft stuff.

graygoose · Today 09:24

Babes, if it took the Met 9 years to catch the Putney Pusher who attempted to murder a woman on CCTV I think you’re safe 😂 how would they even know where to find you? What your name is? Your address? Also many phones get snatched, burglaries happen, cars get broken into, people get assaulted and the police do fuck all? Also I was friends a lot of bouncers back in the day, they would not have called the police on a woman being a bit gobby.

DrinkFeckArseBrick · Today 09:25

Hi OP to get arrested there needs to be evidence of a crime. Making someone in fear of their safety by yelling, getting up in their face, aggressively swearing etc might meet the threshold as they could be in fear of their safety. Any racial abuse is also a crime. Asking to speak to a manager, arguing, and sounding annoyed are not crimes you cab be arrested for

Rpop · Today 09:26

mumlearningtorun · Today 05:53

It was the security guard 😩 I don’t argue with randoms, I had a great time and there was 15 of us, so I don’t think £65 each is unreasonable for a 3 course meal and cocktail brunch

Do not think any more about it. He was just scaring you. Please put it out of your mind now!

FoldItIn · Today 09:27

Your friend was lying @mumlearningtorun his phone didn't say that. There is zero, zero chance that security informed the police about what you said.

Partingofthewaves · Today 09:31

mumlearningtorun · Today 06:07

I agree, but my mind is telling me they may arrest me in a few days

Don’t be ridiculous.

We are not embarrassing drinks, we was home by 22:30 with a McDonald’s on the train for our 1 hour train journey. It was my 30th birthday drinks.

I don’t think you can call us embarrassing drunks over one moment of us getting annoyed that they wouldn’t let us ‘re enter’ a place that we spent considerable amounts of money and time in when there was plenty of tables and avalibility online. It was purely that 1 security guard was going ‘NO REENTRY ALLOWED’ - but the others were considering letting us in because there was clearly space, regardless

Hmmm. So 15 of you went for a girls' night out, you had a great time in a bar, then you went out for three course brunch and cocktail, then you went back to the bar and had a long argument, then you went away again and booked a table and went back half an hour later, were allowed back in and had a great time, then you went to MacDonald's, then you went to the station, all by 9.30 pm.

That was a very, um, busy night, and there must have been lightning-fast service both in that bar and at the place you had brunch.

Are you quite, quite sure about that?

mindutopia · Today 09:33

Literally, how would they get your details? There is no way they can cross reference one booking across the 100 bookings they had that day to know which table was yours and there is no way they would know that you are the one out of 15 whose details they have. It’s literally impossible. And no crime was committed anyway. It’s not illegal to back chat a rude bouncer.

mumlearningtorun · Today 09:34

Yes.

brunch was 1-3pm. We booked a table again for 18:30 and stayed for approximately 2 hours, we then left at 20:30, went to the station, got a McDonald’s and sat down for the train to disembark.

not sure why you came with sarcasm when I never said I went out in the evening.

You need to review how you were acting because if they already decided to ban re-entry, you or your group were excessively drunk and/or causing problems.

Dollymylove · Today 09:39

ChristOnAPennyfarthing · Today 08:20

My friends said I DID nothing wrong. "I done" is never, ever correct in any sentence.

Quick someone call the grammar police!!

Xkk · Today 09:40

Theren is an warrant out there with your name on it.
Ok, I'm joking. Police here, drunk people get arested only of they refuse to leave a premises. Even then, they get taken home or in a safe place and de-arested on the spot, we are not wasting resources with drunk people unless there was an assault or something serious happened. Booking into custody takes lots of time and resources, do you realise how many drunk people are on a night out? You need to stop this spiralliing and need to stop arguing with people on nights out. Bouncers can refuse for many reasons including numbers, if numbers on the premises reached the maximum allowed they will stop accepting people for a while until others come out. Nothing happened and nothing will happen but be less of a Karen, please, is not a nice look.

AFigureWalks · Today 09:41

Cocaine?

BillieWiper · Today 09:42

If the police were called about you why did they let you back in, why didn't the police come, and why didn't they interact with you?

Surely you can't still be thinking the cops are on your tail even now?!

The police in London are quite busy. I think they aren't coming. And frankly if they were, presumably you're no longer in the venue awaiting imprisonment?

HeatedBlanketBliss · Today 09:49

mumlearningtorun · Today 06:05

That’s what I’m hoping for, but I’ve got myself into a tizz of what if they investigate it or something before arresting me. The table for brunch was in my name. Ugh!!!

thing is, if my friend hadn’t seen ‘police called’ I wouldn’t have expected it to turn to that because although I was frustrated, I wasnt violent or giving threats. It’s just because my friend saw that

And you are undoubtedly a lot smaller and weaker than the body guard.

Sounds to me like he didn’t like you standing up for yourself.
