AIBU? Will I get arrested

I’ve just come home from a girls night in London and it was so fun… we left the bar we was in and spent £1000 on brunch in and when we came back the security wouldn’t let us back in. Even though you could book a reservation online.

I was a bit frustrated and said but we’ve spent money in here all day and went to enjoy the rest of our day and spend more? Someone went to check and then another bouncer came out all angry ‘NO REENTRY’ and I asked about 6 times to speak to a manager, which I was told ‘no’ I probably got a bit annoyed but I never was violent or used any threats.

as I walked away I said ‘we’ll spend our money elsewhere then’ and that one bouncer said ‘yeh do!’

my friend went back and felt the need to apologise and the bouncers went ‘don’t worry it’s just him’ and she said she looked at his phone and it said ‘White female, aggressive, police called’

sorry? I wasn’t aggressive, anyway my friend managed to rebook a table in there to prove a point and we went back 30
minutes later and they let us in and we had a great time.

I’ve been up all night, I suffer with anxiety anyway and the police called bit is playing on my mind- my friend told me stop being silly and stop worrying as I’ve done nothing wrong.

Why did the group rebook a table to prove a point. Surely proving a point would be spending your money elsewhere because they didn’t let you back in without a booking.

My friend said it straight away, so I know she would’ve seen it - I mean, my other friend said one of the other girls was more mouthy than you- but I was at the front

People are robbed daily in London and the Met do nothing. If it’s all on camera even better, they’ll have video evidence of you doing nothing wrong. We have free speech in this country, you’re allowed to challenge the bouncer on a decision he made. That’s not a crime. If they were that concerned they wouldn’t have let you back in.

As someone who used to work in this area, 9 times out of 10 they call to make you go away. You went away, admittedly you came back but he may have thought it worked. But were let in.

Bars have no re-enter policies to stop you going out to do drugs/get drugs/get weapons etc etc.

Unless you threatened him with violence or said anything that could be considered hate speech. No. No you will not be arrested. Trust me. Police have better and more important things to do.

(Not saying you would do the above or have at all. It's just the few reasons police would follow up).

We are not embarrassing drinks, we was home by 22:30 with a McDonald’s on the train for our 1 hour train journey. It was my 30th birthday drinks.

I don’t think you can call us embarrassing drunks over one moment of us getting annoyed that they wouldn’t let us ‘re enter’ a place that we spent considerable amounts of money and time in when there was plenty of tables and avalibility online. It was purely that 1 security guard was going ‘NO REENTRY ALLOWED’ - but the others were considering letting us in because there was clearly space, regardless

we all know the type of person who behaves like this. We have all seen incidents like this and just shook our head and thought “drunk twat”.

Beer fear. A sign that your psyche knows your behaviour whilst pissed was iffy.

Time to practice a bit of self restraint and lay off the booze if you can't avoid arguing with hospitality staff when you have had a few drinks.

As someone who used to work in a bar you’re very annoying. Bouncers see this behaviour day in day out so they know the threshold for what is classed as aggression.

I’m surprised by some of the responder. If this was a drunk man the reply’s would be very different.

Do you know how long it takes to get through to the non emergency police on the phone? At least 45 minutes sitting on hold on a good day. There is no way that security guard phoned the police about you.

£65 each isn’t a considerable amount of money for a night out. Not sure why you think spending money gives you the excuse to speak to people like shit either.

The police won’t care. If you were that aggressive they wouldn’t have let you back in.
