AIBU to be really pissed off?!

I sold an item for £55. Not an insignificant amount of cash. Everything was packaged perfectly and she’s said there’s nothing wrong with the item but won’t press everything is okay! What’s the point?!

They can’t be bothered and don’t have to covers that surely?

Yeah. But it’s also fine for the OP to be mildly annoyed that someone hasn’t done it purely because they don’t have to and can’t be bothered, surely?

I imagine a lot of people check that the payment has been made so that they can move the payment into their current account and have the money available for them to spend.

Well given loads of us are saying we don’t even think to press to confirm - I’d hazard a guess there’s quite a few of us that don’t keep track of payments!

I don't and I'm not trying to be difficult - as it automatically accepts, i just wait for that. I don't think any seller has ever complained to me. I didn't really think this would be an issue.

It auto confirms after 2 days anyway doesn't it? Sometimes people are busy and don't have time to check it immediately. I don't think it's that deep. It's not as though you won't get your money.

So you should explicitly ask for the buyer to confirm no issues if it’s important to you.

If I’ve bought a second hand summer t shirt for one of my children for £8… I really don’t give it any further thought the very second I receive, open, see it’ll do and then throw it in the washing machine.

Because Vinted allows you a couple of days to check that the item is OK before accepting.

I’ve only bought a couple of things on Vinted, but I’ve noticed that some people are dishonest and say, for example, that things are new when they aren’t. One item had a stain on (despite being described as new!), which I only noticed when I looked at the item in daylight. Another item had ripped seam. Therefore, I want to thoroughly inspect the item, in natural light, before clicking accept, and I will do this in my own time.

3 days already isn’t very much time. On eBay you would get 30 days to return an item if there was a fault. It’s not the buyers fault that Vinted chooses to withhold funds until the buyer clicks accept. If you want the money faster, then you can sell on eBay instead.

I think it’s thoroughly rude to message people and ask them to accept things before they need to. You are hassling them to work to your timeframe.

I think messaging to ask if it’s alright, and then saying yes, should be enough for them to realise they should press the button!

If you’re so precious about your time that you think one message is “hassling”, then you need to only purchase things from shops.

And if you’re so worried about money then you need to use a different channel. You sign up for Vinted and it’s associated T&Cs.

You wouldn’t hassle a seller to send something immediately after you’ve paid for it.

Why though? They are operating within the terms set out by Vinted. You’re the one who has an issue with the T’s & C’s of Vinted so it seems like it’s you who needs to sell elsewhere if it’s going to rile you up so much.

It's selfish of them. I buy and sell so always press the OK button as I know how it feels to have to wait for your money.

Yea its just crap and petty. And I dont believe people are ever too busy it takes 3 seconds, such a naff excuse.

I've had buyers do that.

Unfortunately I've experienced lots of buyers who immediately after I've accepted their offer start messaging asking when I will post because they want to wear it for a party, it's a gift for someone etc. They don't even ask particularly nicely.
I always send within 24 hours. It's reflected in my reviews which they evidently haven't looked at. When they start getting bossy with me it's grating.

I think if you need the money that quickly it might be worth looking at a different source of income. Vinted doesn't obligate anyone to act within your subjective time frame.
