Vinted buyers who don’t hit everything okay

AIBU to be really pissed off?!

I sold an item for £55. Not an insignificant amount of cash. Everything was packaged perfectly and she’s said there’s nothing wrong with the item but won’t press everything is okay! What’s the point?!

I’ve just bought something on Vinted for the very first time (never sold anything on there) and I knew that they don’t get the money until you click it because it says so on the email from Vinted asking you to click ‘everything is ok’.

But with a £55 item, she ONLY has recourse whilst she hasn't pressed the button.

I've just spent £100 on a second hand bike on Vinted, and you betcha that I'm not going to give it a cursory look over and hit the button immediately.

I`ve never seen the hype for vinted.

I always press 'everything ok' (assuming it is)....I means the seller gets their money faster!

48, actually. I’ve never had someone wait more than an hour or because I’ve never sent something where there’s an issue.

Really? Genuinely interested as when I receive an item I immediately check it when it arrives/I've collected so if it isn't ok I can immediately raise an issue. On one or two occasions I've been away so I have taken longer.

Even less reason for you to start hassling buyers after 24 hours.

No one's ever explicitly said to me it's etiquette but I thought that was obvious tbh. As soon as I've collected anything, I'll check it, then go into the app and confirm and leave a review. It's not like it's an onerous process. It's just a few taps on the app.

@vintedannoyed did you specifically ask her to click the Everything is Ok button, or did you just ask her if everything was ok with the item?

Personally, I assume that the autocomplete date is when I'll get the money. Any time before that is a bonus.

And you can’t possibly imagine a situation where you can’t check an item immediately though?
Many people collect parcels on their way to work, or someone else picks it up for them, or they aren’t going straight home and then they don’t even open it right away.

I was a bit taken aback when I collected a £1 top, then went shopping because the lockers are outside a supermarket. Got a message from the buyer asking if I could release the money whilst shopping. Told her I wasn’t going to open the package in the supermarket!

I will check an item then press the button asap.

I have to admit I started doing it when the seller is taking the piss

For example, someone waits until the very last second to send an item, or worst the following day
Vinted advises it should be posted before the 10th, and the seller posts on the 11th (which is cutting it very fine if you don't want the sell automatically cancelled)

Or when I receive items that stink of Febreeze, so clearly dirty

or the "new without tag" when they are obviously NOT new (even if I only buy them when they cost next nothing)

Otherwise, yes, I get the item, look at it, and click "it's ok" immediately. A bit of a dick move not to? You have the item, seller should get their money.

You’re not being unreasonable and it would annoy me to. Just put a good feedback but state they didn’t release your cash promptly

You don't have to chase anything you get the money automatically after 3 days

I love how people are always too "busy" but find the time to explain how busy they are.

But you do. You have no idea whether the buyer might be about to try something, I take all pictures and videos of me packing the item so I like to get them deleted asap. I ship everything within 24 hours so I think it’s a bit neck to be honest!

That's all very specific to you, @vintedannoyed and buyers have no clue that you have a different expectation to the standard terms and conditions. And you never have any clue if a buyer is going to "try something" up until the point that either they click Everything is Ok or it autocompletes.

I’ve just had someone not pick something up in time so now I have to wait for it to be returned to me and relist it. So annoying and why buy something if you don’t even really want it? She snapped it up the second I listed it too!

No, you shouldn’t be chasing. It’s just plain rude to hassle people like that.
