Vinted buyers who don’t hit everything okay

AIBU to be really pissed off?!

I sold an item for £55. Not an insignificant amount of cash. Everything was packaged perfectly and she’s said there’s nothing wrong with the item but won’t press everything is okay! What’s the point?!

She was probably my desperate for it to arrive in time for a holiday and once received just didn’t think about it. I have done precisely that.

Still a dick move

I sell a lot of stuff on Vinted (as a very small business) and this doesn't bother me at all. I find its about 50:50 of people doing it or leaving it for the two days

Saying someone is a cunt and trying it on for this is really wild!

I also don't think its ever okay to chase someone to click the button

On a different note, I had someone chase me to leave them feedback the other day! Literally a day after I sold something to them. I've never not left someone feedback in about 600 transactions and that's the first time I've been chased for it

nomas · Yesterday 15:35

vintedannoyed · Yesterday 14:39

I know it’ll auto accept but it’s just annoying. I shouldn’t have to chase like this

YANBU, I always try and hit ok as soon as I get home.

The only time I dithered about pressing OK was when I bought the wrong item and really didn't want it anymore! But I realised that was my problem so I still hit the ok button within a couple of hours of taking delivery.

Sorry, too many plates spinning here. It auto accepts after a few days so I'll leave it to do that.

It takes seconds and means the seller gets paid sooner. You have time to shop on Vinted but don’t have time to press a simple button? Incredibly rude and annoying.

Namechangeforthis88 · Yesterday 15:38

We've had a thread on this before.

Stuff sits on Vinted for months. I'm not logged into Vinted on my phone, I use a laptop so I can see stuff properly, so I need to boot that up to click the button. I'm often out all day. I have a very long list of 2 minute jobs and clicking the Vinted okay button is a rare job that will just take care of itself. If you're that bothered, you need to use a different platform to sell stuff.

principalskinna · Yesterday 15:40

I had once picked up the item from my shop and I started walking home, about two minutes into my walk. The seller was badgering me to press it was okay.

If you have time to buy items on Vinted you have time to press all okay and you’re selfish if you don’t.

There’s a reason it’s not mandatory to go and confirm the order within a handful of hours.
If Vinted t’s & c’s bother you then don’t sell on the platform.
Sellers like to trot out the “it’s not Amazon” line when it suits them and then crack up when they’re paid within the time frame Vinted set out for them rather than instantly.

SilenceInside · Yesterday 15:43

Generally speaking, if people are acting within the terms and conditions then I don’t have any issue with them. Even if it’s a bit irritating for me. When selling on Vinted there are so many reasons why actually getting the money might be delayed that you shouldn’t rely on or expect a payment by a certain date that is within the allowed time. Delivery delays, collection delays, and the buyer can take all the time they’re allowed before clicking on “everything is ok” or they can leave it to autocomplete. All are valid options for the buyer as those are the terms and conditions.

Of course it’s nice and helpful if a buyer is happy and clicks Everything is Ok quickly, but they really don’t have to.

Palomiino · Yesterday 15:43

I always hit everything is ok if I can. But you can’t really expect people to do it reliably and it would be unfair to harangue anyone.

vintedannoyed · Yesterday 15:46

The money has been released automatically but I just find it so rude.

OP posts:
Moveoverdarlin · Yesterday 15:46

I press it immediately. I thought every one did.

Willowskyblue · Yesterday 15:48

You’re being ridiculous. If someone hassled me as you have her, I wouldn’t press all is ok either.
You’ve sold on a portal that has clear time frames and rules. You will get paid. The buyer isn’t obliged to click all is ok. Leave her alone as you know you will get your money!
Shops take 3-5 days for money to hit your account (eg for refunds) so why would you expect this to be any different?

AlphaApple · Yesterday 15:49

Just press the button and the seller gets paid rather than having to wait. It’s common courtesy!

ThirdStorm · Yesterday 15:49

So annoying that buyers let it auto accept, I actually think that's rude as its holding up the seller getting paid. The only time I've ever let it auto accept is when I was away so had no idea if everything was ok or not.

I always try to hit the button asap but admit I’ve had a reminder from a seller once when I forgot even after the auto reminders! I’m a seller too so understand it’s annoying.

Pieandchips999 · Yesterday 15:51

I waited on one of my purchases because it smelt weird. Like it had been washed and left to dry damp and had an unpleasant smell. I wanted to make sure the smell washed our which thankfully it did. The seller and item was lovely otherwise so I didn't like to say about the smell.

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever done it!

Hassled? I sent one message, 24 hours after it had been delivered to I ask if it was okay - if there’s an issue I would’ve liked to have known to deal with it too!

There’s no need to press the everything is ok button and sellers should not expect that the buyer will do this. It’s a bonus for sellers if the buyer releases the money early. Sometimes I press the button sometimes I don’t. It depends on how busy I am with life and whether I have had time to unpack an item and try it on promptly or not. As a buyer I get pretty annoyed when sellers pile on the pressure to hit the button and it makes me think there is something wrong with the item tbh. Just relax, your money will be released in due course, you should really factor this in when selling.

UnaOfStormhold · Yesterday 15:53

But it's not just a button press; you have to log in, find the right item among multiple notifications and messages and scroll down to the right section. I'd do it more consistently if I could do it as a single button click or even if there was an action needed list on the home page.

I always try to actively approve them so the money is released early, but because it's a bit of a faff I put it off, and I don't always remember before it auto approves. I'd make an effort to do it quickly if I had a polite request from a seller who needed the money asap, but even if I don't they still get paid.

ASandwichNamedKevin · Yesterday 15:54

My sister collects parcels for me as she passed the post office when she does school run. I sometimes don't get the parcel from her the same day (and sometimes they say it is not there even though Hinted have notified me that it is!) so I don't hit the button until I see the item, it's sometimes past the 2 days anyway so by then the seller will have been paid.

Tableforjoan · Yesterday 15:54

Sometimes I genuinely forget till I get the email reminder but that’s normally because I’ve also collected the parcel but still not opened it.

In fact I’ve an eBay parcel on my sideboard that arrived two days ago I’ve still not opened.

But some sellers leave shipping till the last second so I don’t have an issue leaving collection till the last days on them and then making them wait.

ThirdStorm · Yesterday 15:55

In most cases I'm sure the seller just wants to be paid! Why should you make them wait another 48 hours?

Marroon · Yesterday 15:55

vintedannoyed · Yesterday 15:52

Hassled? I sent one message, 24 hours after it had been delivered to I ask if it was okay - if there’s an issue I would’ve liked to have known to deal with it too!

But they don’t have 24 hours to raise an issue they have 72. So after only a third of the time you’re already pushing them.
This sort of behaviour puts people off and makes them not want to go out of their way for you.
