Rude text? Or a valid ‘joke’

My boyfriend stayed over last night, I was clear with him I had a very early WFH meeting and would need him to be gone by 9. He was, but text me mid morning to say ‘bit gutted I had to leave, I was expecting cornflakes and a quick wank’

I told him I was clear I started work at 9 and needed the flat clear so no interruptions.

He replied saying ‘haha obviously joking, it’s a famous film line’. I’ve never heard of it and he hasn’t replied to tell me which one it’s from.

Would anyone else find that rude?

It was a comment about wanting a sex act that could be taken as a joke but ultimately probably was routed in the truth.

It's a film quote, but if you find it offensive fair enough. My late fiancé and I were waaaay more savage to each other all the time, but that was our humour 😂 It's ok if it's not your vibe though, each to their own x

I know it's a quote from a film. But nobody would say that unless they had actually wanted a sex act. You wouldn't use a film quote about a sex act for no reason. Well, a man who likes Danny Dyer wouldn't anyway.

Doesn't it still mean OP was rushing to get ready and he sent something 'disturbing' / a bit odd ..that she had to follow up? To find its from a film ...then had to see the clip to get it...not exactly stand up is it? 🤭

I can’t believe some of the replies on here. Does nobody have a sense of humour anymore or have banter with their other half?? Why does every single thing have to be a “red flag”?
You would all freak out at some of the things we say to each other.

Why has this escalated so much? This could have been resolved in two minutes… some people like jokes like this, others don’t. It’s ok if people have a different sense of humour to you, you shouldn’t call them uptight if they don’t like rude jokes, or uncouth if they do, and you should respect them by not making jokes in front of them that you know they don’t like. Done. Next.

It was clearly a joke, though, surely. As he said, it’s a line from a film and even if it wasn’t, why would you take it literally?!

Surely a couple can joke about sex? If my DP said that I’d send a jokey reply back.
