I like batshit. It’s direct. I don’t think it’s overused, except possibly by me, and it isn’t a peculiarly MN word.

It’s quite an old expression, certainly predates MN. Sometimes “arse handed to them on a plate”.

That's pretty general, not invented by Mumsnet.
I actually like it, it is a precis of, "You do what you want", or "You do what you think best".

But too often implying: "You're not entitled to an opinion on what other people do".

Or a sarky meaning.
Something like, ‘I think you’re an idiot if you’re going to do that’.

”Just have a coffee and crack on”, “put your baby in a sling and crack on” - or whatever situation they don’t want to empathise with.

Such an irritating expression.

Just say “get on with it” if that’s what you mean, but either way it’s unsympathetic.

I hate ‘boils my piss’ also, but even worse is ‘I lost my shit’. They’re both awful phrases.

So pleased to see you feel the same as me with the "them" and "they". I would love to go back to the days when it denoted more than one. I guess they call that progress.

I often refer to posters as 'them' because I don't know their gender. Her/him is cumbersome.

@grumpygrape I would just guess the gender and say him or her , unless the whole issue had no bearing on gender.. I think most on here do though, hence my confusion when unclear.

This is grammatically correct isn't it? They them he she all pronouns, if a poster is talking about their child without context then I would say they if i was commenting, I wouldn't pop in a he just because.
