🤢 birthed is not a word that sounds pleasant to my ears (and I’ve got two kids).

My little family sounds so saccharine and twee and usually said by people who won’t let anyone else into their inner circle, not even the GPs.

Googling it, most people who have it, are diagnosed with a wider, illness anxiety disorder, so it could be a shortened way of them putting it. Emetophobia is one of the most diagnosed specific phobias apparently, roughly 7% of the population. I wonder who is diagnosing them?

It's usually used in the perfect normal expressions "vanishingly small" and "vanishingly rare" (and similar). It just means extremely.

I haven’t seen it for a while, but ‘baffled’ was a favourite word on here for a while. Seems to have been replaced by ‘confused’ now. The tone is always so mocking and faux naive.

I know that the OP naming the protagonists in their story has been mentioned, but I hate when a poster ‘names’ whoever the OP is pissed off with. They’ll advise the OP to say ‘Look Brenda, I know you’re stuck, but I can’t possibly give you a lift to the arse end of nowhere four times a week.’ It’s always Linda or Jill or Sandra. Names from a certain (my) generation, even when the woman in question is blatantly younger. Because obviously women with names from the 1960s are much more irritating, with their comical names, than any other generation before or after. Sigh, didn’t realise how much it pissed me off until I typed it🤣🤣 My own name is always on the list of names that will/should never return, so I possibly have a whole bag of McCain’s on my shoulder!
