Not exactly the same thing but whenever a poster says that they and their partner have "had our ups and downs", I know they're about to describe the most unsalvageable car crash of a relationship.

Also sick of people complaining about "double standards" because they're offended that a forum of mostly women will centre women's concerns and reflect their experiences. MN doesn't skew just female, it also skews middle aged, various levels of middle class and centre left on most issues, but nobody gives a shit abourt any of that; it's only being largely women that's a problem. It's not an accurate cross section of society for a YouGov poll, it's not trying to be, it's not obliged to be. If you need a perfectly balanced demographic that will act as blind justice on all things, go away and find this holy grail and stop whinging about this community as if Reddit, the manosphere and everywhere else you go is a bloody Crown Court.

"Baffled". When people are trying to suggest that a particular statement or point of view is so ridiculous that it is incomprehensible, they always seem to go for "baffled". "I am always baffled by..." "It baffles me when..." Why is it always "baffled"?

It is really annoying and repetitive. If you want to pretend to be thick, at least come up with another word.
