AIBU to find my friend's Instagram posts about her stay rather odd?

AIBU to think this very odd behaviour or am i just behind the times: My friend of 30 yrs ,we met at primary school ,she lives 100 miles from me came to visit with her husband and 4 children for a week. We live in a touristy place. We spent a lovely week taking them to local places with our family,pretty villages,restaurants,museums,beaches etc, My friend is very active on social media particularly Instagram. I have instagram but am not very active.
After my friends stay she posted pictures of her stay,each place we had visited including my house and garden as if it were a magazine photo shoot,it was as if they lived in my house or it was a holiday home and we didn't exist. She captioned the photos holiday/holiday home/family holiday. In fact she had erased us from some photos. Is this strange or am i behind the times?

She probably wanted to protect your privacy.

It is a bit weird but it's also a compliment on your lovely home. I think I would just chuckle at it, especially if there's any comments talking about wanting to stay there.

I’m probably behind the times too but I’d think this was odd and I wouldn’t invite her again to be honest. All of this curating pictures perfectly to the point where you erase friends, it’s too much! And it feels false and adds to the online nonsense of everyone living a seemingly quaint and perfect life that is also suspiciously always ‘self made’ - no one else involved and very centre stage

additional post to note a PPs comment about privacy, maybe? But why take pics of your home and why not ask to put a nice pic up of you all! She came to visit you after all, not your home

I have a friend like this who does similar with food. I roll my eyes and let her get on with it, but it is annoying, especially when we've gone out together and I want to eat and she's setting up the perfect shot!

I think it's a sign of the times where everything 'has' to be documented online. Feels a bit soulless if you ask me.

Thing is people will complain that they where put on instagram without consent as well , so I understand why she’s removed you .

I’d also largely assume privacy, especially if you have kids and aren’t very active on social media. I don’t post pictures of my kids on social media and wouldn’t be happy a friend did.

Personally I would find the need to post pictures on social media of what is a private visit to a friend extremely odd anyway.

I also think privacy is the sensible suggestion but it would have been nicer if she put holiday with friends. It is a bit annoying to put up pics of your house without asking. She probably wanted everything neat and aesthetic and felt holiday home came across as more aspirational.

Odd for Facebook. Not odd for some of the wannabes on Insta.

Lots of people I know don't want to be in photos in Instagram/Facebook anymore. Especially if her account is public, she would have assumed you don't want your face on there.

I would reply saying "so lovely to host you and spend so much time together, wow you've made our house look amazing like something out of a magazine 😁"

It’s nothing to do with privacy and let’s face it if she had concerns about posting images without your consent they could have just asked for your consent fgs. Your friend is wanting to project an image of her families life and a bouji beach setting fits the brief. Apparently your house and garden fits the brief but you unfortunately don’t. Im sure it’s not you specifically but Im guessing your friend enjoys an aspirational image and “ here’s my holiday home “ has a different vibe to “ here’s my friend in her lovely garden”. There is always the option of not posting anything to SM - shock horror.

She doesn't do MLM or anything like that, does she? A lot of people involved in those sorts of 'jobs' (scams) need to pretend to be a lot more successful than they are, so do things like rent cars and pretend they've bought them etc. Pretending a free stay with a friend was a fancy holiday home would fit with that.

I’d do this. Or post your own version of the photos in a more realistic fashion and tag her
