To ask about totally inappropriate behaviour at wedding?

Was at a seemingly lovely wedding at the weekend. Beautiful setting and lovely ceremony.

One of my friends was chief bridesmaid and she had put so much effort into making the day perfect for the happy couple. But she started to drink a lot after the ceremony and by the end of dinner she was very tipsy and all over the singer from the wedding band. They had been playing some acoustic songs throughout the day and she kept making requests. It was obvious she fancied him.

Later on, one of the other guys from the band was lovely and asked if I had seen their singer because they were setting up for their evening set. I mentioned that my friend was also missing so went to look for them together. We joked that maybe they had eloped or something.

But nothing prepared me for what I was about to witness. Behind the outdoor toilets, my friend was down on her knees giving the singer from the band oral. I was mortified and the other guy from the band told me his friend had done this a few times. We are not even sure if they seen us and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up with my friend.

On the up side, the other guy from the band was really sweet and we danced a bit later that night and swapped numbers.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever witnessed at a wedding?

Cool story. I love that for you.

Lordofmyflies · 06/07/2026 12:55

Gross! One of our guests at our wedding disappeared with another guest. They met after being seated on the same table for the wedding breakfast and it was noticeable that they were tipsy and into each other. They were missing for about 2 hours and reappeared at 1am both in their sexy nightwear!

Sortingmyself · 06/07/2026 12:58

ex-friend was seen/heard shagging in the loos on our wedding day. It was with her DH tbf but even so...🙄

ToadRage · 06/07/2026 13:00

My Mum telling my MiL that she doesn't like my husband. Who does that? I was sick at my wedding and my Mum still complained about everything; she didn't like our first dance song, she didn't like our cake toppers, she wanted to sit with her bf rather than at the top table with me and my brother, the only thing she apologised for was her family turning up late. Probably tame by some standards but this was supposed to be mine and my husbands special day.

3luckystars · 06/07/2026 13:01

What harm. You will probably end up doing the same thing just a longer lead in time. If neither of them are married, why not? Why was there outdoor toilets though, that’s the only bad thing.

I was at a wedding once and the bride and groom texted just before it, (on the day itself) to say they didn’t want gifts, they just wanted money. They then had an argument at the wedding itself. That was the worst behaviour I have seen.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 06/07/2026 13:01

it wouldn’t be a real wedding without a saucy event!

TheresMillionsOfGeoffreys · 06/07/2026 13:03

If neither of them are unmarried, why not?

That's a very weird take?!

3luckystars · 06/07/2026 13:04

Sorry that was a typo, I corrected it now. Apologies!

Bet you’re no fun at weddings 😂

JoyousOpalLemur · 06/07/2026 13:05

I'm sure I've seen this in every US sitcom ever

ColdAsAWitches · 06/07/2026 13:05

I don't see that she's done anything wrong, certainly not "totally inappropriate". She carried out a private act, in what was arguably a private location until you went hunting around for her.

FieryA · 06/07/2026 13:08

In what way was it totally inappropriate? Surely people hook up at weddings? She didn't create a scene or do anything publicly. She didn't miss any of her bridesmaid duties. She had a bit of fun, perhaps a bit too much, hardly anything to be so shocked about.

Mumsnet is wild for comments like this.

Why ? Could you explain the comment? Is it a joke, if so, how?

UhOhRatPoo · 06/07/2026 13:10

Unless either if then were married, good on her, who doesn’t want to pull the lead singer of the band? I hope they picked up where they left off at the end of the set and had a good night together.

Nowisthetimeforicecream · 06/07/2026 13:11

Totally inappropriate. The chief bridesmaid is meant to get it on with the best man.

Beamsss · 06/07/2026 13:15

Why would you go looking for them? Assuming they're both single and were now both "off duty" after a busy day.

You might not have expected what you found, but they were hardly likely to be playing tidliwinks.

InAWhirl · 06/07/2026 13:16

Honestly, who cares...

BauhausOfEliott · 06/07/2026 13:18

OK, I'm going to pretend I believe this actually happened, just for the sake of argument:

Who cares? It's not like she sucked his cock on the dance floor in the middle of the speeches. You only saw them because you went poking round the back of the toilets searching for them. Nobody's been harmed by any of this and the bride was none the wiser (unless you've gleefully told her) so what's the actual problem?

shiningcuckoo · 06/07/2026 13:21

When my friend got married the two families didn’t really know each other and siblings had never met. My friends sister had been married for 6 months. But she clapped eyes on the grooms brother at the wedding and left her husband pretty much instantly. The new relationship was consummated at the wedding venue within a couple of hours. Both my friends sister and her sister went on to have 3 children each and those kids all look pretty much identical.

Victorius19 · 06/07/2026 13:21

Least it wasn't the groom ...

Family wedding and the couple turned their first dance into something that could have gone straight onto porn hub. No one needs to see tongues on a dance floor. The worst bit was that they'd asked their guests to crowd round them in a circle holding LED candles for the videographer so there was no escaping it. Our poor Nan was horrified, and kept saying "what are they doing" over and over. In the end, the Bride's Dad had to tap them on the shoulders. And funnily enough, it wasn't in the wedding video...

SeasideDaisy · 06/07/2026 13:22

We had a three course meal at our wedding for 40 guests, starter, main, dessert. The starter was served at 4.30pm and was wrapped up for the band/drinking/dancing by 7.00 . speeches included.
Everyone was served there starter then main then it was supposed to be speeches with champagne and then the cake would be served. During the speech I noticed one couple (husbands friends) were finishing off their dessert. Turns out they had pulled the waiter aside and asked to have their cake early because they wanted to get going but didn’t want to miss out on chocolate cake.

BrickBiscuit · 06/07/2026 13:28

Happy couple posing for photos in the leafy arbour outside. Bride's father passes carrying someone's luggage from their car, and jokingly gives them the middle finger as he goes. Amusement all round. The photographer kept it in!

Pistachiocake · 06/07/2026 13:30

Someone licking the bride's face (not her husband).
