To ask about totally inappropriate behaviour at wedding?

Was at a seemingly lovely wedding at the weekend. Beautiful setting and lovely ceremony.

One of my friends was chief bridesmaid and she had put so much effort into making the day perfect for the happy couple. But she started to drink a lot after the ceremony and by the end of dinner she was very tipsy and all over the singer from the wedding band. They had been playing some acoustic songs throughout the day and she kept making requests. It was obvious she fancied him.

Later on, one of the other guys from the band was lovely and asked if I had seen their singer because they were setting up for their evening set. I mentioned that my friend was also missing so went to look for them together. We joked that maybe they had eloped or something.

But nothing prepared me for what I was about to witness. Behind the outdoor toilets, my friend was down on her knees giving the singer from the band oral. I was mortified and the other guy from the band told me his friend had done this a few times. We are not even sure if they seen us and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up with my friend.

On the up side, the other guy from the band was really sweet and we danced a bit later that night and swapped numbers.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever witnessed at a wedding?

Double negative the original comment would mean they are both married. If neither are unmarried then both are married.

Where?

Which shows why asking chat gpt instead of using your own brain leads to stupidity. Read the original comment again, carefully.

WHAT WAS I MISSING?

I don't know, but this is fucking barmey!!! 😅😅😅

Tunnocksmallow · 06/07/2026 16:24

Yeah, I’ve been at a wedding where the groom was off shagging his affair partner in the toilets at the reception.

Cool story. I love that for you.

'Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to witness'!

RampantIvy · 06/07/2026 16:24

I don't think the OP did anything wrong going to look for the singer, given that she had been asked to look for him.

Why are people judging her for that?

Did the bride know and did the marriage go ahead ? 😮

She didn"t know it seems although a few other people did, it went ahead, and divorce came a few years later I believe due to more infidelity, but I think there was at least one child from the marriage.

for a minute I thought this was about the derail that I had started!

That's a very weird take?!

the original comment was ‘if neither of them are unmarried, why not?’

because if neither of them was unmarried, it would mean they were both married!

Why are people judging her for that?

Because it was fairly obvious what they were going to find, and if the OP couldn't handle finding her friend having sex with the wedding singer, to the point of
nothing prepared me for what I was about to witness (!), then she could easily have spared her own blushes by telling the other band member that finding his lost singer was his problem, she was just a wedding guest.

Yes by don’t compare me to the chief bridesmaid. I danced with this guy and we are actually planning a date soon. Totally different.

I bet he does this at every wedding as a pp implied.

I don't know why people are getting on you about helping the guy in the band find his band mate, I would have done the same.
Personally, I couldn't get upset about the blow job. Yes, I'd probably be joking "my eyes my eyes" as I wouldn't want to actually see it happening but this kind of things happens at weddings. No big deal as they weren't hurting anyone.
Also, you mention the other bridesmaids were still talking to people. I didn't realise that was part of their duties.

Any1ForTennis · 06/07/2026 16:32

Gross, if he was on stage under all the lights he would have been sweaty as hell in the jiggly bit area.

Pilgrimlady · 06/07/2026 16:35

I was invited to the evening "do" of a wedding by a guy I'd just started seeing romantically, even though I'd worked with him for ages. I took it that he really liked me when he invited me during the evening to be his "plus one". He'd been there all day but they'd already done the invites for the day do when he and I got together, so I was, understandably, only invited at night. Anyway, it's a good job I couldn't go during the day as it would have stopped him from getting off with the man behind the bar and going back up to the room that he'd booked for the two of us to stay in overnight, to have sex with the barman. On the plus side, we did get served very quickly when we bought drinks. At another wedding, where, once again, I'd been invited to the evening do only by a guy I'd been seeing for about 6 months, I arrived to find out he'd got together with the Chief Bridesmaid during the day and they were very disappointed when I turned up. That was a very awkward evening, it was a long distance away and my parents had dropped me off. I couldn't afford a taxi and I didn't want to drag my dad out again to pick me up, so I had a few drinks and tucked into the buffet whilst pretending not to notice that those two were all over each other on the dance floor. Thankfully, the next wedding I attended was my own, happily to a completely different man and we celebrate our 30 year anniversary this year!

My uncle and his new son-in-law got drunk and then fell out massively at the reception. There was a huge physical fight which started with just them but ended up with most of the men in the room being involved. It required stitches and the calling of an ambulance/police with the issuing of a few public order offences.

My Uncle decided to manhandle his daughter, the bride, home, and the police were again called as he steadfastly refused to let her leave the house for her honeymoon.

It was incredibly out of character for both of them (and all the guests as a whole) - my uncle is a quiet, studious and very gentle person and the groom is a golden retriver of a man. Neither of them has said what caused the row, but to this day they are very frosty with each other.

I'd go for hot pink! something a bit different

Bonkers1966 · 06/07/2026 16:43

Eldest sister hooked up with a pal of the groom. It was middle sister's wedding. Fairly discreet, bless her. Next day, the pal calls the groom to brag about shagging eldest sis. Middle sis completely lost the plot. Like nobody ever got any at a wedding ffs. It's a celebration of luuuuvvv. It took years for middle sis to get over herself. Years. It was a dreadful wedding btw. So cheap.

Terribleio · 06/07/2026 16:43

I mean, this didn’t really happen, but if it did, worse things happen at sea.

HectorPlasm · 06/07/2026 16:43

You lot are like a cross between Miss Marple and Discworld wizards - stop ganging up on the OP!

Notallthatx · 06/07/2026 16:44

EmeraldShamrock000 · 06/07/2026 16:14

Why not? Is she too low for your liking or standards? Maybe your standard of hooking up with a man on a whim is another woman’s idea of easy slutty behaviour.
Don’t look down on her.

Because I didn’t hook up with a guy. We chatted, danced and now will go on a date. Nothing like the bridesmaid.

Playing during the day but yet to start their proper night time set.

My issue is nothing to do with consenting adults so stop trying to minimise it. Do I have to spell it out. She literally had his penis in her mouth in public at one of her best friend’s weddings. How is that ever appropriate?

It wasn’t on the dance floor. They were behind the toilets out of sight from ‘the public’.

You were actively looking for her, like a worried parent searching a toddler.

She may have had a nice room, but she didn’t want to go there. She wanted to give the singer a quick BJ in a field and she did.

I bet she’s back at work with a spring in her step today and I’ll bet he’ll be at another wedding next weekend hoping for more of the same. They’re young and single. Fair play to them.

BauhausOfEliott · 06/07/2026 16:51

TheBlueKoala · 06/07/2026 15:09

@Notallthatx I might be an outlier but if the friend was single I would have thought this hilarious. Well, no actually considering a blow job is more prostitute action since she doesn't get anything from it. But I would have laughed if I had found them shagging. I'm such a prude so I live through other people's wild acts .

Christ, this is a weird post on so many levels.

A blow job is akin to 'prostitute action'? What on earth is wrong with you that you think a completely normal sex act is 'prostitute action'?

You do realise that there are plenty of things he might have already done for her before the blow job?

Why do you think it's unimaginable that she might enjoy giving him a blow job anyway?

I'm such a prude

You don't say.
