To ask about totally inappropriate behaviour at wedding?

Was at a seemingly lovely wedding at the weekend. Beautiful setting and lovely ceremony.

One of my friends was chief bridesmaid and she had put so much effort into making the day perfect for the happy couple. But she started to drink a lot after the ceremony and by the end of dinner she was very tipsy and all over the singer from the wedding band. They had been playing some acoustic songs throughout the day and she kept making requests. It was obvious she fancied him.

Later on, one of the other guys from the band was lovely and asked if I had seen their singer because they were setting up for their evening set. I mentioned that my friend was also missing so went to look for them together. We joked that maybe they had eloped or something.

But nothing prepared me for what I was about to witness. Behind the outdoor toilets, my friend was down on her knees giving the singer from the band oral. I was mortified and the other guy from the band told me his friend had done this a few times. We are not even sure if they seen us and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up with my friend.

On the up side, the other guy from the band was really sweet and we danced a bit later that night and swapped numbers.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever witnessed at a wedding?

I bet he wasn’t even a member!!

Oh, I married him, and he definitely wasn’t a member, then or now! The hotel the wedding was in just had an attached golf course. And, because the groom was French and most of his family didn’t speak English, all speeches etc were being translated, so dragged rather, and we sneaked out for some air. We’re still friends with the bride, though the marriage was short and rocky…

I don't see that she's done anything wrong, certainly not "totally inappropriate". She carried out a private act, in what was arguably a private location until you went hunting around for her.

Well, maybe, but surely he was being paid to sing at the wedding, and she, presumably, had some bridesmaid duties to attend to?

I would have been tempted to yell out to them and see if she got startled and bit him. But that would have been for my own amusement...

I mean I agree it’s a bit minging, but 😂 at ‘unprofessional’. It’s practically part of the job description of gigging musicians to do this sort of thing isn’t it?!

Mid set? Not usually.

Minnie798 · Yesterday 08:11

I think you must have known she was up to something like this. Behind toilets isn't somewhere you'd usually go looking to find a 'missing' friend at a wedding.

Mid set? Not usually.

He wasn’t mid set, though. From what the OP says, they’d done some acoustic songs earlier, but this is only just after dinner and they haven’t actually started their set proper yet.

My cousin's wedding in the 1990s was a disaster; the Rolls Royce broke down on the way to the church. No-one had mobile phones then, so someone eventually went looking for her. Then, when they went to sign the register, guests were taking the floral displays from the end of the pews. When the happy couple walked back down the aisle, there were no flowers left. Then, we got to the reception, and the prawn starter had been left out for hours, so it couldn't be eaten. Then, just to finish off, the best man revealed in his speech the groom had been 'intimate' with a stripper on the stag do. They are still married.

Sounds like a real up-market 'do' with quality guests 🙄

I’m not talking about your friend.

So what are you actually trying to say?🤔

I never did !

Your choice.
Personally, I don't have the money, time or inclination to keep replacing stained mattresses.

Just moved into a new pub, first wedding I had done . Meal went well, come the night after a few drinks, the groom hit the bride’s father all hell let loose. Had to call the police, it was an upstairs room so the police were throwing them down the stairs and into the van. I ended up with the cake and bridesmaids dresses . Because they refused to pay so I refused to give them back. Lesson learnt made people pay before the day.

I'm trying hard to imagine one of my 'good friends' having sex in the grounds at a wedding.

Call me old-fashioned, prim, pearl-clutchy etc...but I never had THAT sort of friend!!!😂 If they had done that, I'd be looking askance at them for seflishness, lack of self-control, self-centredness and basically, dreadful taste.

Judgemental much? You betcha, and proud.

I agree completely - some of these responses are mental to me, and I’m far from a prude. I’m feeling a little burnt out at the moment, so to “let off some steam” I’ve taken some annual leave and checked myself into a spa hotel for a few days. Wild, I know 🤪.

Then again, I’m not in the habit of blowing random men at weddings, or anywhere else for that matter. It’s just crass and grim on so many levels. I’m also thinking, what if a child had been the one to see them?

I don’t know anyone who behaves this way, so maybe it’s one of those mumsnet myths like the everlasting chicken 🤷🏻‍♀️.

A load of idiots at my wedding cornering a girl in the bathroom because she dared to wear something that looked too white for them. I told them where to go. Their bullying was fifty times worse than anything she could have worn/ said or done

CalmTheFuckDownMargaret · Yesterday 14:50

A couple turned up together and were seated on a big table with some new people. The guy went for a cigarette with one of the women on that table. Later that night, he was discovered in a bush shagging her doggy style. The poor partner he arrived with was hysterical. Absolutely disgraceful - they totally ruined the wedding, all of the memories of it and a lot of the photos. As selfish as it gets.

What did they expect her to do? Take it off and sit around in her bra and pants listening to the speeches? See if the venue could provide a non-white tablecloth she could pin round her?

No answer was the loud reply.

Friend disappeared during reception with a member of the wedding party to shag him in her hotel room. Only problem was she was sharing the room with another friend, who tried to get into the room but couldn't as didn't have key. Just heard giggling within as they ignored her and she had to go and sleep on someone else's room floor with no pyjamas etc.

Their friendship did not survive!

I must live in a different world if many of you think it's not absolutely mingerish behaviour to suck a strangers cock at the back of a toilet block 😂
Years ago a group of us went to strip show and before the show even started my ds' sil came out the changing room, with a huge grin and wiping her mouth, proudly announcing that she had sucked this random strippers cock.
I've never looked at her the same since 🤑

This reminds me of a friend who threw herself at a celebrity she'd just met...her choice, but I'd be terrified of catching something!
