Haven't seen DH in clothes since Monday

My husband doesn't like the heat which means that for every day this week during the heatwave, we made an agreement that I'll been the one doing errands, nipping to the shops, and doing both morning and afternoon school runs. In return, he will ensure chores are done and cook dinner.

He works from home so therefore has had no need to leave the house.

Except, he's spent nearly a week walking around in just a pair of pants. No other clothing. He at least changes those pants daily (and sometimes twice a day), but I have not seen a t shirt on him all week nor a pair of shorts. I can't remember the last time he wore a pair of trousers.

I get that it's hot but i'm sick of the sight of his bare chest and legs. He is also bald so he looks like a giant newborn wearing a nappy.

He has somehow managed to do every work Teams call this week with the camera off.

We've also had quite a few deliveries this weekend, largely his, which I've had to run and open because he runs and hides from the window (while giggling) in case they clock he's only wearing pants.

I've asked him to put clothes on but it's fallen on deaf ears.

It's only 23 degrees today, AIBU to insist he puts some clothes on?

Does that mean it’s ok to come on here and say nasty things about him?

If it’s so acceptable then she should show him this thread and see what he says!

IT'S ANONYMOUS!! And MN survives on people venting about their friends and family, for heaven's sake! If this post shouldn't stand, then neither should hundreds of thousands of others!

I just can't with all the virtue-signalling. 🙈🙉

I think you should count yourself lucky my DH puts the bins out in nothing but his pants! Even when it’s not that hot! He’s got a job which means he has to wear industrial thick PPE for most of the day so when he can be liberated he makes the most of it (I’m sure I’ll be savaged on here and DH is completely unreasonable)

What a man. My husband does this too 🤣

You can insist, but it doesn’t sound like you guys like each other very much and he might be doing it on purpose now to annoy you.

It he’s fine with it and finds it all so funny … doesn’t he?!?

Obviously the bigger problem here is that you don't actually fancy your husband. If mine was in his pants all the time I'd be absolutely loving it. And he loves it when I wonder about in my underwear, no preening needed. Why don't you try it?

Camille99 · 30/06/2026 09:22

Whereareyourclothes · 29/06/2026 22:18

Never said anything about his weight. The reference to "giant" was for a comparison in stature, given newborns are about 45cm tall.

I'm very happy for those who love their husbands doing this and get turned on by it. It's rather refreshing that even after all the preening, waxing and shaving women are expected to do to make themselves desirable to men, women just need their man to strip down to their pants and remain in them 24/7 to be unresistable

If you think someone looks like a baby you are hardly attracted to them are you? And women aren't expected to do any preening or shaving for their husbands. I'm sure 99% of them couldn't care less about a bit of hair.

Tbf, it could be worse, OP. DH was dressed yesterday in shorts, sandals....and socks 😬

I defy any of the 'I'd fancy my husband whatever' crew to find something lust-worthy in that.

Not sure how old you are or if you have kids. Bodies do and can change, just because you don't want your other half in pants all day doesn't mean you're not attracted to them just because of a "dad bod.'
Personally I would find it abit grim, sitting in pants every single day, it isn't as if it is the odd time. And from what op describes these aren't even boxers.

Buy him some shorts! Or cut off a pair of old trousers, sorted. Apart from the cheeky beggar getting you to do all the chores and running around, it's fine. Been a horrible week - and tail end of next week we are in for more high temps so get those shorts in :-)

She did the running around, he did the chores

Come on now... I though the whole gym socks and sandals was a trend now? 😂

We’re not perverts, were normal

My husband’s favourite look. I still love and fancy him!

If you can’t walk about in your pants in your own home then when can you? Sorry OP I think you’re being completely unreasonable here and fail to see what the issue is.

Only on Mumsnet could someone be considered a 'perv' for [checks notes] being sexually attracted to their own partner.

You would walk about in your underwear for a week?
it would annoys me if my older daughter or teenage son did it too. It’s nothing to do with attraction but getting frustrated at people not dressed, I get the same when my partner has been in pjs for days! People are seriously looking to misunderstand op on this thread

lilkitten · 30/06/2026 11:53

I don't blame him, if I didn't have kids around I would have been without clothes in the house too. I spent the weekend at DP's house, no kids, so I just walked round in knickers, it was heaven.

I agree. I spent last weeks heat wave in as few clothes as possible, sometimes none. I would have been very put out if DH had told me to cover up because I was offending his eyes. It was 37 degrees ffs !!!

The only reason I’ve not been walking around in underwear is because I have an adult stepson living with us or I’d absolutely be wearing as little as possible.

Blades2 · 30/06/2026 12:43

Does your husband know you don’t fancy him anymore? 😬

Ronathediva13 · 30/06/2026 13:19

Giant newborn 😂😂😂

I am slightly “Team Husband” as I massively struggle in the heat due to eczema and asthma so I have been wearing the bare minimum and hiding from society. But yes, I think he could’ve compromised with a pair of shorts and opened the door for a delivery! And I am back in proper clothes and leaving the house this week so maybe he’s milking it a little bit. The big baby. 😂

Draytoncb · 30/06/2026 13:20

An odd relationship if you need advice on such a thing

VikingNorthUtsire · 28/06/2026 19:37

Is he called Martin?

I was waiting for someone to say “I’m BOILING!”.

This thread has really tickled me (albeit yes I would be a bit irked if had to be the one to always answer the door….). But to be fair, where can we truly be ourselves and let it all hang out if not at home? The Finns have a word apparently meaning the utter relaxation of drinking at home in nothing but your pants. Frankly last week was about survival so if pants were what it took then so be it in my book!

Can you explain why it would annoy you? Is it rational? Does it really matter? Is it really so bad? You are responsible for your own feelings about wanting to impose your ‘standards’ on others.
