Haven't seen DH in clothes since Monday

My husband doesn't like the heat which means that for every day this week during the heatwave, we made an agreement that I'll been the one doing errands, nipping to the shops, and doing both morning and afternoon school runs. In return, he will ensure chores are done and cook dinner.

He works from home so therefore has had no need to leave the house.

Except, he's spent nearly a week walking around in just a pair of pants. No other clothing. He at least changes those pants daily (and sometimes twice a day), but I have not seen a t shirt on him all week nor a pair of shorts. I can't remember the last time he wore a pair of trousers.

I get that it's hot but i'm sick of the sight of his bare chest and legs. He is also bald so he looks like a giant newborn wearing a nappy.

He has somehow managed to do every work Teams call this week with the camera off.

We've also had quite a few deliveries this weekend, largely his, which I've had to run and open because he runs and hides from the window (while giggling) in case they clock he's only wearing pants.

I've asked him to put clothes on but it's fallen on deaf ears.

It's only 23 degrees today, AIBU to insist he puts some clothes on?

OP, maybe you should wear nothing but big granny pants for a week and see how it goes? Make sure to have hairy legs and pits, and if you have nipple hair, let it sway in the breeze. And declare you can't leave the house, so he'll have to do everything.

After all, he's supposed to love you, right? So he should be admiring all the above, as PP would do if their men wore nothing but nappy-adjacent undies for a week.

I wish I could do the same- perimeno in a heatwave is shiiiiiiiiit.

God people can’t be light hearted anymore, you can love your husband, be attracted to him but find someone in underwear all week frustrating and slobbish. can’t wait til some of these couples are in their 60s and been together 40 years, it’s hard going, just because you don’t want to automatically sleep with your partner after looking at them in pants doesn’t mean you hate them, Jesus

Oh, don't spoil the virtue-signallers' fun!

But having said that, I do think you're TERRIBLE! Me, I always lust after my husband, no matter what. One tooth, egg stains, baggy Y-fronts, swamp smell, it's all good. Look how amazing and deep I am! 🤣🤣🤣

Come on though, women aren't visual the way men are, and we are also not programmed to be overcome with lust at the sight of a naked male like they are with us. We're programmed to be turned on by the traits that make them likely to stick around and raise our cave-babies. They're programmed to fire up at the sight of a naked woman because their erection is necessary to propagate the species. Men and woman are not the same.

And the VAST majority of us look our best with some light draping on, let's be honest.

I'm so glad I actually like what my partner looks like.

Yes, I'm definitely prioritising looks next time.

Why are you married to someone you clearly hate??

IV struggled with this weather I think I'm actually a walking talking oven and even in winter I have windows open and heating off, but my husband doesn't bat an eye he just pops a jumper on

why are you making stuff up? Nothing the op has said suggests she hates him.
Wanting him to put a t shirt and a pair of shorts on isn’t hateful. Why should she be doing all the errands, outside chores and answering the front door just so he can wander about in his pants?
Heatwaves make me feel really ill but that’s no an excuse for me to strip off 24/7

I didn't even do that, we were attracted to each other's voices first, and it was originally jokey flirting and at some point stopped being a joke for both of us.

Whereareyourclothes · 29/06/2026 22:00

I never mentioned rolls so pointless piece of protection there. The baby comparison is because of his lack of hair and his underwear resembling a nappy. I've said this to his face by the way so you don't need to be too worried about his feelings. Luckily he sees the funny side of it, as have I on some occasions if you read my update about putting the bin out.

And let's face it, there wouldn't be a reverse. Find me a woman with primary school aged kids that would stay indoors for 6 days wearing only a pair of pants while her male partner does all the shopping/school runs/clubs while still working full time and doing 2 days from the office!

I mean…. Reading that back is awful OP. There are way bigger issues than the pants. He is being really unfair to you.

Speak for yourself with this cliched, evo-psych nonsense. I'm plenty visual. All the straight women I know can appreciate the sight of a nice, toned male body.

And specifically I enjoy looking at DH in clothes or out of clothes. I can't fathom marrying someone I was as repulsed by physically as the OP seems to be by her husband.

Whatthefork1 · 30/06/2026 07:06

The issue isn’t the lack of clothes, I mean he’s in his own house and you are his wife, why does it matter that he’s just wearing pants?
The issue is that you agreed to run all the errands, nobody has enjoyed the heatwave but we’re all adults and have to carry on! My DH has been working outside, bricklaying in 34 degrees with zero shade!!! Your DH needs to get a grip.

BuildbyNumbere · 30/06/2026 07:21

DimwittedSkater · 29/06/2026 23:41

No, she hasn't! Women do not usually get turned on by the sight of their male partner slobbing about in nappy-adjacent underwear. The male form is not a set of graceful curves that's pleasing to the eye like the female form is. Men are hairy and do not look good naked, mostly. Even if they do, there's still the great big unmanicured man-feet to deal with. 🤮

And the UNDER-ARM HAIR!

PP who are making out that OP should be finding her Y-front guy sexy after a week of wearing his nappies are just being virtue-signallers. Unless they're lucky enough to have a muscled, toned man with a sense of style.

Does that mean it’s ok to come on here and say nasty things about him?
She married him.
If it’s so acceptable then she should show him this thread and see what he says!

What have I said that's nasty? You've said this a few times. Is the image of a newborn something you find offensive?

That was me in the heatwave - couldn’t bear anything other than bra and knickers. Have been googling cotton bras for the next one!

Yes, any adult would find being compared to a "giant newborn wearing a nappy" to be nasty and hurtful, especially by their partner, who is meant to be attracted to them. This is obvious.

I've said this to his face, he found it hilarious and continued wearing his pants, so not sure his feelings are hurt, and he certainly wouldn't have a problem with me moaning it about it anonymously on a forum. The suggestion I should "show him this thread" like if he sees it he will want to divorce me 😂. If that's divorce territory for some of you then God help you if real problems arise. And let's ask all the women who moan about their relationships on Mumsnet to show their partners because we can't offend their poor souls.

You ignore the fact that this isn't exclusively about the pants, but the fact that he has not left the house to do or help with anything during the whole week. And before you say "oh he did the housework", the only chores were washing his pots in the weekday. We don't wash the clothes, iron, or do dusting/cleaning in the week - that's always a Saturday job, and I did those.

I have dysuatanomia and my car air con has been broken. You just have to suck it up. If you have a car with aircon and a shopping trip is needed in an airconditioned supermarket why can't he go? He'd be outside all of maybe 3 mins. Sounds like you've got more of a problem than not liking what he looks like in his pants!

His good grace doesn't make it a nice thing to say about your partner.

I don't think your division of household tasks in the heatwave is fair or reasonable but you called it an "agreement" which implied to me that you agreed with it. If you're not happy with it then you need to actually talk and come to a different agreement.

I’m a perv, I love it when my boyfriend is as nud as possible!

Feeeeesh · 30/06/2026 08:08

My DH is usually in boxers most of the year and often completely nude. No complaints from me, I love it.

1 - no one mentioned divorce.
2 - you’ve enabled his behaviour this week and decided to martyr yourself!

This fucking thread 🤦‍♀️ the holier than thou's never have a day off.

Sorry @Whereareyourclothes but I am loving the image of your giant newborn baby husband 😂and as much as it offends your eyeballs I don't think there's much you can do. They do get set in their ways quickly, I reckon the pants are here to stay!
