Haven't seen DH in clothes since Monday

My husband doesn't like the heat which means that for every day this week during the heatwave, we made an agreement that I'll been the one doing errands, nipping to the shops, and doing both morning and afternoon school runs. In return, he will ensure chores are done and cook dinner.

He works from home so therefore has had no need to leave the house.

Except, he's spent nearly a week walking around in just a pair of pants. No other clothing. He at least changes those pants daily (and sometimes twice a day), but I have not seen a t shirt on him all week nor a pair of shorts. I can't remember the last time he wore a pair of trousers.

I get that it's hot but i'm sick of the sight of his bare chest and legs. He is also bald so he looks like a giant newborn wearing a nappy.

He has somehow managed to do every work Teams call this week with the camera off.

We've also had quite a few deliveries this weekend, largely his, which I've had to run and open because he runs and hides from the window (while giggling) in case they clock he's only wearing pants.

I've asked him to put clothes on but it's fallen on deaf ears.

It's only 23 degrees today, AIBU to insist he puts some clothes on?

I bet it would be deeply unsettling to know the number of people who have popped a quick top on while sat there in their undies on teams calls!

BillieWiper · Today 18:29

If he's not going outside the house it's reasonable enough. I sometimes walk about topless in just pants if I'm really hot and indoors. Or just a bikini/bralet.

It's a good sign he changed his undies twice a day, and presumably showers daily.

So as long as he's not sweating profusely onto the soft furnishings I think leave him to it.

Or make him go out so he has to put clothes on! 🤣

Stop answering the door for his parcels, thats not your problem; he needs to decide if he wants to put some shorts on, or have the parcels go back!

JayJayj · Today 18:34

I’m a woman and some days I’ve just had my knickers on fur the most of the day. It’s been hot. That said I did get dressed to go to the shops etc. I’d tell him to get a pair of shorts or a robe and to answer the door himself.

The line about him looking like a giant newborn did make me giggle!

His refusal to answer the door would have pissed me off - he should have been keeping a dressing gown or something nearby to quickly put on if needed.

The rest of the time I wouldn’t care too much as it’s fairly unusual circumstances.

But yes, now that’s it’s back to 23 degrees, the big baby needs to start wearing clothes again.

Yes that is a funny image, child of giants. LOL

Is there any greater joy than doing what you want in your own home?

Yes but that doesn’t mean that all the deliveries etc should fall to his wife to sort out. What would he do if he lived alone?! Or with a flatmate 🤣

So is it acceptable to only wear pants as a woman?

So, are you a naturist?

Is your daughter OK with you living a naked life in front of her? Not judging, just curious.

I wouldn't say I'm a naturist. I usually throw on some light PJs if I'm walking around the house but if I'm upstairs working or reading I'm either nude or maybe just wearing pants. She's never expressed an opinion. We all wear what we want, within reason.

MissSold · Today 19:11

He sounds happy 🤣

Er, yes. I’m doing it now. I am sure many others are too. I am shocked at how uptight some people on this thread are! And how little they seem to fancy their own husbands.

Yes, he could wear light shorts and answer the door in them, no one is going to care in this heat?

Come on though, women aren't visual the way men are, and we are also not programmed to be overcome with lust at the sight of a naked male like they are with us. We're programmed to be turned on by the traits that make them likely to stick around and raise our cave-babies. They're programmed to fire up at the sight of a naked woman because their erection is necessary to propagate the species. Men and woman are not the same.

And the VAST majority of us look our best with some light draping on, let's be honest.

Frazzled89 · Today 20:07

If he's not doing his fair share then that would annoy me, so i understand why you'd be annoyed. The way you talk about how he looks though is tbh quite nasty and if it was the other way around then women on here would have plenty to say. Are you even attracted to your husband? Shouldnt we want to see our spouses as they naturally are? My husband would love me to walk around in knickers only.

Frazzled89 · Today 20:10

Jellylasagnafortwo · Today 09:08

It’s really sad that you are repulsed by your husband’s body!
Imagine him describing you like that!

It was actually really nasty what OP put. The double standards on mumsnet strike again. We all know if a man had commented something like that about his wife (she looks like a big baby, she has rolls), women on here would be outraged.
