So we all know that mumsnetters love a good argy bargy over Summer vs Winter.

Are people actually enjoying this heat? If you are, what is it about it that you like?

Yabu - it’s great I love it
Yanbu - it’s too hot

I do like sunny days, but I can't wait for Autumn 🍁

cupfinalchaos · 24/06/2026 22:18

Me.. we have a day bed in the shade in garden with cushions and I’ve just been scrolling, reading and prepping dinner for my parents who came round.

narcASD · 24/06/2026 22:25

@Comeonenglandtonite I have drank loads, sorry if TMI but my wee is as clear as water I've drank that much! Also had electrolytes but I think it's due to lack of sleep, got a wet towel on me now and the fan going do hope to get some sleep tonight

Dappy777 · 24/06/2026 22:28

Hate it, hate, hate it. This country just isn’t suited to the heat. It’s too overcrowded, with too many cars and too many small houses jammed on top of one another. I dream of the first crisp, bright Autumn day. You know, one of those still days when the air has turned cold and there are crunchy leaves on the ground and you can smell bonfire smoke.

SaraBarca1 · 24/06/2026 22:29

I love it, I am made for 35 degrees, I feel so relaxed and like I can finally stop being so tense.
It’s mostly so grey and cold here, so a bit of heat is marvellous (fully aware that the climate crisis is catastrophic, just focusing selfishly on the lovely heat).

MrsClattenburg · 24/06/2026 22:32

Absolutely love it! ☀️

Yes,mu garden office is hell and I'm sweating non-stop but sitting outside the pub at 10pm in the heat is just lovely and my tan is looking good!

Long may it last 😍 I know it won't...

I normally like the heat, but it was 34C here today, very humid and I had to work. If I hadn't had to work and had a small outdoor pool (I imagine the sea is still freezing), I would have enjoyed today much more.

I swam in the sea at the weekend (so before it got really hot) and it was pretty pleasant!

alloutofcareunits · 24/06/2026 22:52

I love it, I’m very rarely too warm. I can come home, sit in the garden for an hour, go for my run in shorts and vest top then eat. No feeling like my shoulders are up on my ears because I’m cold like I am for most of the year!

southofscotland · 24/06/2026 22:53

Absolutely loving it. I’m convinced I was a solar panel in a previous life.

Ahh, I wish they'd close our office and send us all to the beach! After all, most local schools are closed.

likimagee · 24/06/2026 23:13

Dr Amir Kahn did an interesting video on why women can struggle in the heat more than men. Women who were solar panels in previous lives notwithstanding Smile

namechangeformeeee · 24/06/2026 23:16

I’m enjoying it but I’m in Scotland where it’s about 22 degrees

Rainbowstarssunlight · 24/06/2026 23:16

I like it. I feel like a flower that needs sunshine to bloom. In the winter I feel half alive. I think it’s also nostalgia from summers spent with family in southern Europe as a child.

JasonTindallsTan · 24/06/2026 23:19

I love it, my sister (who is one of those people who likes it when it’s cold and she can be cosy) often calls me a lizard as I cope so well with the heat. We get so few genuinely nice days in the UK, at least in my bit of it, I get really irritated by people moaning about it when they have their cold damp weather 90% of the time (those with genuine health conditions excused from my ire).

JBJ · 24/06/2026 23:19

I love the blue sky and sunshine, but the temperature in the house is unbearable. I’m perimenopausal and sweaty at the best of times! Bought some portable air con units, which are great, but I’m a bit concerned about the cost of running them too much.

paddyclampofthethirdkind · 24/06/2026 23:22

I love it. Especially paired with the lovely long days. Give me this any day over grey and rain!

whatcanthematterbe81 · 24/06/2026 23:27

The only time I didn’t love it was walking home from work. Once I got into my garden, it was delightful. I thought i would hate it actually but to me, this isn’t as hot as I was expecting. And I’m in London

MSisSWupsidedown · 24/06/2026 23:28

Loving it! Last night was the first time I didn’t sleep with a heated blanket in two years (didn’t get hot enough last year)
I have a hard to heat old house and nerve damage that keeps my feet cold for 90% of the year, so I’m making the most of it! ☀️

covilha · 24/06/2026 23:51

Oh, I am LOVING this heat wave. Takes me right back to family holidays in the South of France!

montysmaw · 24/06/2026 23:53

I loooooooove it

JillyComeLately · 25/06/2026 00:15

I love the heat. Life seems so much better when the sun is shining.

Chubbychubber · 25/06/2026 01:53

Love it. Work is a bit of a bind because i have a very physical job but now im on rest days.....its devine.

I keep the house cool, blinds down in sunny rooms, windows closed until night etc.
Got a bit of gardening done this afternoon after work, deep cleaning the house, curtains cushion covers, coats.....all getting put through the washer. Ironing done in the evening.

Ive just sat on my patio with a lovely cup of tea in my nighty and its a lovely temperature out there at 01.30.
Love the summer air.

SideboobToYouToo · 25/06/2026 02:39

Absolutely love it.

garlictwist · 25/06/2026 04:30

I love it. I feel so energised. I’m not sleeping as much but don’t feel I need it. I’ve been working in the garden with my laptop and just feel so much more at peace and able to get on with things than I do sitting in the house. It’s so nice to not wear trousers or a coat for once. I’ll be sad when it’s gone.

menopausequeen · 25/06/2026 04:33

If it was 24 degrees I’d love it. I love the warm weather and the sun. But it’s just uncomfortable
