... so not hugely necessary. But say you eat a pizza at a restaurant and you can't quite finish it all. Rather than a full-sized pizza box, can you please give me a half-sized one that I can fit in my handbag please?*

*only applies to more mainstream restaurants, I know that kebab/chicken places will jam anything into a small polystyrene/single use plastic container.

Just a little thing to make the world turn more easily. Also although I get the kids' menu and the discount, can we all please order smaller portions if we wish? Ta!

Fairly sure that they end up scalding the milk in things like lattes etc. Also, coffee shouldn't be made with boiling water

Nope. I always have a latte and a competent batista can make a not lukewarm coffee without ruining the taste.

Id like to buy replacement parts for small things. Fir example we have a perfectly functioning teapot without a lid right now. We would like to just get a lid...

I understand that banks are closed on bank holidays but why, when everything is automated, do automatic payments not go out until the next day?

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 03/06/2026 07:57

Poached eggs. Why the insistence on cooking them with runny whites. It's not hard to cook them perfectly so the yolk is runny and whites hard. Yet most establishments mess it up so I now rarely order them out. Which is a shame.

More fluffy cats and pomeranians! 😍

The world does not need more yappy pomeranians. They should forever remain as a silent but cute cartoon.

From a Pomeranian owner who needs ear defenders most of the day!

For Holo Taco to get a UK stockist. I usually buy enough to get free shipping, (it's about $20, whatever that is when it's converted to £s) and then I have to pay tax on top. Then it takes a week for my parcel to arrive. I wish I could just order it off a UK website like I can with Orly.

That's okay @Katemax82 , I'll have your prawn cocktail ones.

Espresso is always £1.20 (ish) like in Italy.

I'll raise you... Worcester sauce crisps!

Same. Keep checking eBay in case someone has posted just a lid that goes with my teapot…

My thing is Royal Mail lockers - I think they are doing them now but not quite near me. I want them closer and to work exactly like InPost lockers, as I hate going into the nearest post office because of the man that works there.

Kids Portions of everything on the adult menu
Rather than the usual crappy boring kids menu of beige shite and tomato pasta

Yes to this! My daughter is 9 and gets so fed up of always being offered chicken nuggets or sausage etc, she’d love our meals. We were away recently and she just ordered fries then shared my husband’s salmon noodle bowl and my steak pie, think we’ll keep doing this if future.
Also The Lounge do a decent kids menu if you find one: https://thelounges.co.uk/

Rain only at set times. Preferably not during the school run.

I get that it would make things easier budget-wise, but I love the payday now and again where you don't have to pay rent/mortgage out of it! 13 paydays a year but 12 sets of bills feels amazing.

Before someone calls me on my privilege, yes, the feeling is an illusion and the extra pay gets spent on bills over time, but for that month, I feel baller and I like it 😂

Yes you are right about a bill free 13th payday!

JustAnUdea · 03/06/2026 08:06

My teenager eould like to be able to order smaller portions. She hates massive plates of food. She managed just over half a pizza last night in a restaurant. Her dad, uncle and and grandfather helped.

I'd like a magnetic car roof aerial. It doesn't have to be functional. My last car had one, to which I added a bobblehead. I could find it easily in car parks. My newer model has a shark fin and I can't add a bobble. I don't want anything that might damage the paintwork. It seems an impossible task. My car is incredibly common, and black. I spend so long looking for it in car parks.

I try to hard-boil my eggs most of the time, but sometimes, if I'm out and about and I need a bit of sustenance I will buy some hard-boiled eggs. I think they should come with a little packet of salt attached to the side of them.
And pepper!

I always take a photo of things nearby as a reference in huge car parparks!!

I once worked somewhere where we got paid every four weeks on a Friday, the first pay day was a bit of a shock (13 pay days) but once I got used to it the regular pattern was great.

@Sux2buthen you can buy duvet clips for this. They are a game changer.

I’d like to be able fast forward through the ads by just tapping my AirPods instead of having to traipse around looking for my phone when they start on about AG1 and Better Health for the millionth time.

What type of duvet clips do you use that don't pierce the duvets?

Ifeeltheneedtheneedforcoffee · 03/06/2026 08:15

Standard sizing for clothes across all retailers. I dont eant to have to try on or online order 3 different sizes each time.
And stop adding length to trousers legs. Im an average height and never had to take trousers up. Now they are so long im starting to buy short size.
.....unless im actually shrinking 🤔

TheGander · 03/06/2026 08:19

Being able to open windows in an office, also a Premier Inn, a hospital, basically anywhere you have to spend more than half an hour. These days they all seem to be nailed shut. Why, for the love of God?

I would also like size 8 shoes to be EITHER a 41 or 42 , not both

Preach!

Bertiebiscuit · 02/06/2026 23:16

Those lotus biscuits you occasionally get with your coffee in nice cafés, like a little present

DH used to buy these in bulk off Amazon before the supermarkets here started stocking them (around 15 years ago probably)

JulieJo · 03/06/2026 08:26

All food cans to be properly stackable. Eg. Soup and baked beans, so they don't fall out of the cupboard and break your toes. Tesco manage to do this, why can't Heinz.
All houses having their name / number on the gatepost if they have a drive so that anyone visiting or delivering can easily find the correct property, it would help emergency services too.
Food items being a standard height so they fit on the shelf that I placed at a height that worked at the time I had the kitchen fitted.

workinghardhardlyworking · 03/06/2026 08:26

I would like one socket/plug type across Europe. I would also like a unified laptop/phone charger. I have so many stupid cables.

I would like the world to stop using words like privilege and racism at every freakin opportunity. It makes me absolutely insane to see these two words thrown around, constantly, with no rhyme or reason.

Just the small things.

I would say the same about the words sexism, ageism and Women's rights being eroded, being thrown around all the time on Mumsnet. Makes me absolutely insane.

Just the small things....
