Silly little things to make life better...

... so not hugely necessary. But say you eat a pizza at a restaurant and you can't quite finish it all. Rather than a full-sized pizza box, can you please give me a half-sized one that I can fit in my handbag please?*

*only applies to more mainstream restaurants, I know that kebab/chicken places will jam anything into a small polystyrene/single use plastic container.

Just a little thing to make the world turn more easily. Also although I get the kids' menu and the discount, can we all please order smaller portions if we wish? Ta!

If you get paid 4 weekly, be able to pay bills 4 weekly and get benefits 4 weekly so it all tallys up

I get that it would make things easier budget-wise, but I love the payday now and again where you don't have to pay rent/mortgage out of it! 13 paydays a year but 12 sets of bills feels amazing.

Before someone calls me on my privilege, yes, the feeling is an illusion and the extra pay gets spent on bills over time, but for that month, I feel baller and I like it 😂

I would like the lasagne-dish-makers and lasagne-sheet-makers to end their ancient feud. Everyone has suffered enough.

Toaster makers and bread bakers to agree what size to make loaves and toaster slots. Such a waste of food/time/money to have to trim the sides to get the bread to fit!

Eww, I wouldn’t want my handbag smelling of pizza, kebabs or any other food.
I would like staff in coffee shops to give me hot coffee rather than luke warm coffee. Why do they do that? And why do I waste my money on buying the coffee when I know that they do that?

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 03/06/2026 07:03

Not having lots of different apps for parking . Just one please.

Fyi - the Asda app has been glitchy for a few months to the point of being unusable at times.

Having a thermostatic bath tap that you can programme with the volume of water that you want dispensed and then turns itself off. If I'm being fussy, there might be a timer option and a remote option so I could either tell it to run me a bath for say, 6pm on a Friday or so I could just tell it to start running before I get home, like my hive heating app.

Ask for extra hot and take it back if it's not.

ThejoyofNC · 03/06/2026 07:17

My dream would be for a local independent butcher to have a counter inside the supermarket. Or I'll even take next door to be honest.

A remotely operated lazy Susan which works in an oven to ensure even cooking.

Fairly sure that they end up scalding the milk in things like lattes etc

Also, coffee shouldn't be made with boiling water.

You can get rotating pizza stones...

If baby wipes/wet wipes actually came out one at a time, hate it when you pull a wipe out and they all come out like a long string and you shake it to try break them up but they don’t so you have to release the sqirming baby to pull them apart at which point baby quickly starts streaking up the hallway and you have to will your poor creaky knees to get up and chase them down 😂.

Same for showers. Have up to 6/8 preprogrammed heights/temp/flows etc

Ill press my button, and the shower head will lower, head will turn to correct hole arrangement, and temperature just right for me (DH is tall, likes collecting "power" showers, I prefer warmer gentler)

Rascals wipes, you're welcome!

I solved this problem by using flannels 😂

Wet wipes were the biggest pain for changing nappies! I use them now DD is 6 for fave wiping etc on the go.

A short spoon for the coffee when the jar is very full.
Saw one this week.
Someone I know has one that a mutual friend's dead husband made for her.

I have so many questions 🤣

Paradoes · 03/06/2026 07:39

I get paid fortnightly and I love it as twice a year we fet three pay checks in the month. It feels more manageable that my old monthly payment.

Slightly more crisps in multipack bags.
some kind of fastening to stop duvets sliding in their cover.

Some covers come with strings sewn into all four corners. You then tie the strings around each corner of the duvet as you're putting on the cover. It works pretty well. You could retrofit your existing covers very easily if you're any good at sewing.

This isn't such a little thing (literally!), pretty shoes size 9+ please would make me really happy! I wouldn't wear them very often as I'm a comfy shoe kind of a girl but they would make me absurdly happy when I did!

I noticed that ASOS generally do up to a 10.

Me too! What is the reason for the short spoon? Don't you just use a normal spoon, but not stick it all the way in??

Friendly dogs on the tube always make my day, one actually leant on my legs for the whole of my journey once, it was absolute bliss

I had a cheery little chap jump
up and sit on my knee the other day! His mother was mortified - I was delighted!

I love a dog on the tube - makes my day

I would also like size 8 shoes to be EITHER a 41 or 42 , not both

Also make size 9 shoes in pretty colours and styles. Don’t assume that those of us with big feet only want black and brown and the basic style.
