Silly little things to make life better...

... so not hugely necessary. But say you eat a pizza at a restaurant and you can't quite finish it all. Rather than a full-sized pizza box, can you please give me a half-sized one that I can fit in my handbag please?*

*only applies to more mainstream restaurants, I know that kebab/chicken places will jam anything into a small polystyrene/single use plastic container.

Just a little thing to make the world turn more easily. Also although I get the kids' menu and the discount, can we all please order smaller portions if we wish? Ta!

Kids Portions of everything on the adult menu
Rather than the usual crappy boring kids menu of beige shite and tomato pasta

Bras to be unpadded or padded. Ban all removable bra pads, they are my nemesis after every wash.

I would like taking the kitchen bin out of the container to be a lot easier. I’m always struggling with it, maybe as I’m quite short. It should have a little door or something.

Also on the boot of my car you have to press a button to open and close it electronically but the button is really high up and I struggle to reach it. Why not have the button low down, on the side somewhere.

I would like spray bottles of glass cleaner to be the same size as other cleaners, not bigger. So all fit in the same cupboard space

B0D · Yesterday 22:52

I would also like size 8 shoes to be EITHER a 41 or 42 , not both

Different shelf arrangements in a fridge! Im not convinced anyone with a 185cm / 200cm high fridge freezer fills every fridge shelf front to back as they so deep you'd have to empty them to reach the stuff at the back (apart from christmas of course when the cheeses and trifles are rammed into every corner...)

So how about one shelf is half-depth, the next shelf is full depth, then half depth then full depth. I know I could get the insta-friendly pull-out shelves but I dont want to. Just a more flexible shelf arrangement please 😁

This isn't such a little thing (literally!), pretty shoes size 9+ please would make me really happy! I wouldn't wear them very often as I'm a comfy shoe kind of a girl but they would make me absurdly happy when I did!

I'd love some cream you apply after you have shaved your legs that stops the hairs growing back for 6 months. I'm not greedy, I'd be happy to shave twice a year.
Annoyingly , when I had chemo, my leg hairs were the only ones that didn't fall out!!

For shops like M&S to have the larger shoes sizes higher and the smaller sizes lower.

A short spoon for the coffee when the jar is very full.
Saw one this week.
Someone I know has one that a mutual friend's dead husband made for her.

You can use a medicine spoon. Though that’s a bit of a nightmare when the jar is half empty. Then you need like a long handled latte spoon!

If this is your one thing you’d change about the world - smaller takeaway pizza boxes that fit in your handbag - I think your privilege speaks for itself

🙄

What part of 'silly little thing' do you not quite understand?

All websites/apps operating to the same standard! I shouldn't have to be stressed out using your app, Asda!

What do you find stressful about it?

It wouldn't be possible for all websites to work the same way, but if you can work out what you don't understand about it perhaps you can get some help with it.

I've noticed you posting an awful lot on here and I hope you don't mind me asking, but as you have a lot of trouble with quite a few basic things - do you have support at home, or maybe a care worker?

WonderingWanda · Yesterday 23:12

Just one universal parking app and free WiFi in the car parks so that you can log in if it's automatically logged you out or decided you need to download the latest app.....I'm looking at you Apcoa!

If cafes would give you a glass of water along with your hot drink like they do in some European countries.

Gail's do - but i guess it's only fair considering how expensive everything is there

I would like payday in January to come a few days earlier. We always get paid very early in December, and it’s such a long wait until the next payday. Since February is such a short month, let’s get paid earlier in Jan!

More people getting poodles than cockapoos.

Bertiebiscuit · Yesterday 23:16

Those lotus biscuits you occasionally get with your coffee in nice cafés, like a little present

Nonnim · Yesterday 23:16

Less things - less different types of light bulb fittings, less different types of tap washer thingmejigs. All zips to be the type that work and not the type where the teeth spring apart again after you have done the zip up.

Yes please 🙌

DD is gluten intolerant and every kids menu is made up all/some of the below ;

Burgers and chips
Pasta and garlic bread
Fish fingers and chips
Chicken nuggets and chips
Pizza.... And chips
Sausages that contain gluten and chips/mash

Very occasionally she gets a choice of ham ,egg and chips.

She doesn't like mash or chips.

So we always have to get her an adult meal that costs £££, things like salmon and rice and veg or. Chicken curry and rice, or omelettes etc

hilst other kids are eating for a few quid, or free or whatever, and she leaves half of it!

The benefit is, she eats better meals,

But still, a small portion of adult entrees would be lovely. You sometimes get this at pubs.

@Lmnop22totally missing the lighthearted thread

There are so many on MN who don't do light hearted, everything has to be picked over to be able to try and score a sanctimonious point.

Years ago in July we were paid July and August salaries together, September seemed to be a very long month!

You'd hate the local park near me, the app changes every year or two!
they have a local resident discount where it's £2 a day instead of £2 hour.
You bet your car registered with Parking4All, having had to prove local residency,
You will turn up one day to new signage, it's now run by Parking4U ... u have to download an new app, and then email them to get your number plate moved over, because no one's transferred the local resident plates, then they want proof, so you have to send them the proof and get your refund.
And when you think it's all sorted, they charge you full price...an do it again.
Then a few months later repeat it all again, because now it's Parking4Less.

Such a paaaaiiin...
