To end 1 month relationship over this tiny thing

or am I being dramatic?

Please be honest if im overreacting. Me and my boyfriend have been together officially for 6 weeks, it's going really well. Yesterday we went out for dinner and I drove us back to mine after. On the way back, he rolled down the window and threw his empty drink can out of my car. As soon as he rolled down the window i knew that was what he was going to and asked / begged him not to as I'm the one who's car it is and I don't want someone posting my car all over the local facebook group saying rubbish is being thrown out of it.

Also it gave me the ick. I find it a bit grim that he couldn't wait 10 mins till we got to my house to throw his rubbish away.

Massive red flag IMO

I would end the relationship over this personally!

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 19/12/2025 17:08

So he also ignored your request not to chuck litter?

I'd get rid.

Thaimonstera · 19/12/2025 17:08

Yanbu. What kind of arsehole thinks it’s ok to do that?!

Btowngirl · 19/12/2025 17:09

It would be enough for me to end it I think. Although I can imagine him saying he had been broken up with due to littering and it sounding a bit wild. Have you addressed it with him & what did he say? That would be very telling.

Catza · 19/12/2025 17:09

Yep, get rid.

Phonicshaskilledmeoff · 19/12/2025 17:10

Yep - put him in the bin

🤮🤮🤮

Iamthemoom · 19/12/2025 17:10

LTB. No question. That would give me rage not the ick. Anyone who cares so little about the environment and wild life let alone your reputation if it was posted online, needs dumping immediately.

Bikergran · 19/12/2025 17:11

6 weeks is not a relationship. He's a dirty chavvy slob. Dump.

biscuitscake · 19/12/2025 17:11

Ugh no. If he is prepared to do this then I would worry about how lazy, selfish and lawless he would be in other areas of life!

Nearly50omg · 19/12/2025 17:11

I’d have stopped the car and told him to get out and pick that can up and then driven off when he got out and left him 🤬

CasperGutman · 19/12/2025 17:11

I'd end it over that, no question. Someone who would do this just doesn't have the level of consideration for others and for society that I'd be looking for in a partner.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 19/12/2025 17:11

LTB. No redeeming feature makes up for him being antisocial (litter) and disrespectful (ignoring you).

Advocodo · 19/12/2025 17:11

Get rid off!

BellissimoGecko · 19/12/2025 17:12

Huge red flag. I always wonder who is vile enough to chuck litter out of car windows, and now I know.

I’d end things.

craigth162 · 19/12/2025 17:12

He's a dick. Get rid

Bushmillsbabe · 19/12/2025 17:13

Yep, he would be gone. You asked him not to do a disrespectful thing, and he still did it, so double disrespectful.

HippopotamusForChristmas · 19/12/2025 17:13

I thought this was going to be another eye roll where the woman dumps a perfectly decent guy because he said something slightly imperfect but nope... get rid. He's an immature, dirty scutter. A fucking tramp.

DaisyChain505 · 19/12/2025 17:14

If this is his attitude towards our planet what’s his attitude towards anything else. Animals, women, children.

He’s not even trying to hide how vile he is.

Hes shown you, believe him.

greenwithglee · 19/12/2025 17:14

gross. I'd bin him. Not my kind of person at all.

Myoldbear · 19/12/2025 17:14

He's done two things.
One is littering without a care.

The second is worse, doing what you told him not to with good reason.

How many this escalate in a couple of months?

bicyclecrash · 19/12/2025 17:14

What gets me is that he didn't even need to throw the rubbish immediately. It seemed like he just done it for the thrill of it. No morals

What connects this guy with the empty drinks can?

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 19/12/2025 17:15

He’d be gone if it were me

Kingscallops · 19/12/2025 17:15

Classy. Dump.

CharlieEffie · 19/12/2025 17:16

Bad enough he did it but after specifically asked him not to??? Boy bye 👋
