or am I being dramatic?

Please be honest if im overreacting. Me and my boyfriend have been together officially for 6 weeks, it's going really well. Yesterday we went out for dinner and I drove us back to mine after. On the way back, he rolled down the window and threw his empty drink can out of my car. As soon as he rolled down the window i knew that was what he was going to and asked / begged him not to as I'm the one who's car it is and I don't want someone posting my car all over the local facebook group saying rubbish is being thrown out of it.

Also it gave me the ick. I find it a bit grim that he couldn't wait 10 mins till we got to my house to throw his rubbish away.

What gets me is that he didn't even need to throw the rubbish immediately. It seemed like he just done it for the thrill of it. No morals

Blimey
What's he like normally if this is his idea of a thrill?!

Congratulations on a unanimous vote! Yeah, sorry you have to get rid. No loss though.

itbemay1 · 19/12/2025 17:53

I’d would have stopped the car and he either picked it up or I’d have made him get out. Grim

Dillydollydingdong · 19/12/2025 17:54

Dreadful. I couldn't put up with that.

TruJay · 19/12/2025 17:54

I’d have stopped the car and made him go pick it up and if he didn’t I’d have made him get out and would have driven away but I HATE littering, so unnecessary.

DuchessofStaffordshire · 19/12/2025 17:54

I'd ceremonious dump him by going round to his house and emptying a bin bag full of rubbish on his floor. What a twat.

Woventwigs888 · 19/12/2025 17:55

Hadalifeonce · 19/12/2025 17:43

I would have stopped the car and told him to get out and pick it up.

Me too!

blueshoes · 19/12/2025 17:55

100% voted YANBU

I think it is pretty unanimous 😁

JoshLymanSwagger · 19/12/2025 17:55

Nope.

Thank God you found out now that he's a knob incompatible with your principles, or y'know, anyones🤦🏻‍♀️

Chinsupmeloves · 19/12/2025 17:55

Can't stand this selfish and lazy littering, would tell him off big time and be concerned this is his attitude to life. If he realised it was wrong and changed then some hope.

crazeekat · 19/12/2025 17:56

Ltb

BigMommasHouse · 19/12/2025 17:57

I would.

it would be clear that we don’t share the same values. He is massively ignorant and entitled, no respect for the environment, no respect for you.

It would give me the ick. There would be no coming back

nadine90 · 19/12/2025 17:57

I’d have said YANBU from the title alone because you’re allowed to go off someone for no reason at all after a month. But I wouldn’t want to associate in any way with someone like that, let alone date them. Proper scummy behaviour, how embarrassing!

BigMommasHouse · 19/12/2025 17:57

Also he is not your boyfriend’ after 6 weeks. He is a date. Throw this one back, raise the bar

Linksrechtsgeradeaus · 19/12/2025 17:58

Exactly.
It's not a tiny thing, OP.

Glitterybee · 19/12/2025 17:58

I think this is the most unanimous poll result that I’ve ever seen on here.

That’s easily answered OP

Countduckula52 · 19/12/2025 17:59

Knuckle dragging Neanderthal. Throw him back.

tinyspiny · 19/12/2025 17:59

I’d have stopped the car as soon as it was safe to do so and told him to fetch it . Definitely get rid @bicyclecrash

Christmaseree · 19/12/2025 18:00

So bin him.

Bulbsbulbsbulbs · 19/12/2025 18:00

I couldn't go out with someone who did this. It tells you what type of person he is.

BigMommasHouse · 19/12/2025 17:57

Why can’t he be a boyfriend after six weeks?

StephensLass1977 · 19/12/2025 18:01

Get rid of this pig.

Newusername3kidss · 19/12/2025 18:02

Absolutely grim. I would have stopped the car and made him go and pick it up. Definite red flag. Sounds like a dick

Laura95167 · 19/12/2025 18:03

You dont owe him a relationship. Tbh its more an icky he kept going when you asked him not to than he would do it anyway with no concern for the area environment or passers by

firstofallimadelight · 19/12/2025 18:03

I agree dump him. For two reasons, firstly for thinking littering is acceptable and secondly (and most importantly ) you ask him not to do something and he chose to ignore you and do it anyway . It would have been so easy for him to go fair enough I won’t and roll the window up but he couldn’t do that.

Yes finish it.
multiple reasons
against the law
he could of recycled it
could of hit or injured someone
you asked him not to
you shouldn’t of needed to beg hi
he ignored you
his disrespected you, your driving and the free lift what a total twat
