Good god it happened to me

Sorry, this seems very alarmist. But I am horrified by what has happened. I realize fully that this is a first world problem. I started mouranjo in February for various health reasons, one of which I was obese. Well the pounds flew off me at a freakish speed, so much so that my Dr told me to stop 7 weeks ago- which I did. Here is the problem. I HAVE NEVER GOT MY APPETITE BACK. I am now classed as underweight. I have absolutely no interest in food and have to force myself to eat. I now have very low blood pressure. This is a nightmare. Am I just going to shrink away? I’m living off protein and meal replacement shakes because I find it so hard to swallow food. And part of me feels like I deserve it. I’m catholic. Wil it end? Does anyone else know of this happening?!!! Is it my fault?

Im the same. I have to force food down after losing 5 stone. I have no interest in food at all and I used to be a binger
im living on HUEL right now to get the calories in..

Wetoldyousaurus · 13/12/2025 01:26

Are you sure you’re not actually Calvinist and were just born into the wrong branch of Christianity? Because as a Calvinist you would frown very much on allowing yourself to take a shot instead of sweating through thousands of hours on a treadmill fuelled by lettuce. Catholics however, are much more prone to enjoying a glass of wine and a biscuit and chanting away the guilt of indulgence with a few Hail Marys. Hopefully your appetite returns. If not, maybe try a trip to Italy? Food’s pretty good there.

therearesigns · 13/12/2025 01:27

Is this a known side effect? Definitely worth a wider check up in case it's unrelated.

EtLuxPerpetuaLuceatEis · 13/12/2025 01:28

I would assume the guilt would be for the presumed sin of vanity (one of the seven deadlies, isn't it?)

Zanzara · 13/12/2025 01:36

I would find it surprising if a Catholic would use the title of this thread, breaching as it does one of the ten commandments?

SimplyBudgie · 13/12/2025 01:49

Everyone I know who's been on the jabs then stopped (6 people) have all had the exact opposite...appetite returns quickly and larger than ever and they're now putting weight back on rather rapidly.

I'd go to the GP op, it sounds concerning.

I was actually treating it with the levity it deserved.

It's a pity you missed it and my emoji.

Give it a few years and you may catch up.

CalmShaker · 12/12/2025 22:54

I was just about to post the same but figured op was meaning to write 'cataholic' to give the impression she was an animal lover

😂😂😂

wineosaurusrex · 13/12/2025 02:27

All Catholics understand why she mentioned being Catholic 😁

Sigh. Why are people taking the catholic comment so seriously?!

She’s simply saying that she feels she has brought it on herself by taking the jabs. Clearly related to general catholic guilt, not that the Catholic Church has outlawed mounjaro for gods sake 🤣

Agree, I thought the OP used it as a throwaway comment or tongue in cheek comment and not to be taken too seriously.

DoreensLemonDrizzle · 13/12/2025 02:50

Can she have wafer thin ham, Barbara?

SheSaidHummingbird · 13/12/2025 02:51

@hamadryad The Catholic comment is gold.

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/12/2025 03:12

Some people are genetically predisposed to getting eating disorders. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9710388/#:~:text=In%20fact%2C%20genetic%20factors%20predispose,the%20heritability%20of%20these%20disorders. I would get a full blood panel including to see if your electrolytes are out of balance. Start monitoring your pulse as well as your BP. If you’re struggling to eat I’d think you’ll have deficiencies and you will need to take supplements to get your appetite back. But if you want to know what these deficiencies are, you’ll need to not take supplements before any before the blood tests.

Aluna · 12/12/2025 23:07

I had the same thought, Kelly Osbourne too is looking frighteningly thin recently.

Her Dad died - She is grieving and struggling to eat

Morningsleepin · 13/12/2025 03:53

Sorry OP. I don't think the levity is appropriate, as this is a serious problem. I hope you get better, OP

Booboobagins · 13/12/2025 04:23

You are in control if you, not a drug or your emotions, you. Remember you deserve to be here and have a good life and keep telling yourself this.

Set alarms throughout the day and eat/drink your shakes.

Have 20% more than recommended, though check if that gives you too much vitamin A and if it does have a different type of drink that doesn't have vitamins.

Start making soups - these will be good for your gut biom which can support appetite - buying a soup maker might be a good investment if long term you have the issue with swallowing.

I hope the GP is following up all your needs, @hamadryad

blueumbrella2016 · 12/12/2025 23:38

Calorific drinks: full fat milk, fruit juice etc

You need carbs and fat not just protein.

I initially misread this as ‘Catholic drinks’

Hope you get it sorted OP, your AIBU title intrigued me. I’ve nothing constructive to offer.

ktopfwcv · 13/12/2025 04:34

Frillysweetpea · 12/12/2025 23:36

Jenny Murray has the same issue. These reports are getting a bit frightening.

Obesity is frightening as is swath.

PilatesAndLattes · 13/12/2025 04:56

Humble brag.

That and the Ozempic…

Gingernaut · 13/12/2025 01:12

Did you mean cachectic, OP?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cachexia

No - she meant Catholic

And to other posters she can swallow but has no appetite (it's written in capital letters)

Maestoso · 13/12/2025 05:48

springintoaction2 · 13/12/2025 05:29

And to other posters she can swallow but has no appetite (it's written in capital letters)

And in the small letters she says she's living on meal replacements shakes because she finds it hard to swallow. Right before her catholic guilt.

Mothership4two · 13/12/2025 05:56

SmallTortoise · 12/12/2025 23:05

Is this what happened to Sharon Osbourne?

She has admitted she stupidly deliberately overdosed Ozempic to get results more quickly and has buggered up her health.
