Sorry, this seems very alarmist. But I am horrified by what has happened. I realize fully that this is a first world problem. I started mouranjo in February for various health reasons, one of which I was obese. Well the pounds flew off me at a freakish speed, so much so that my Dr told me to stop 7 weeks ago- which I did. Here is the problem. I HAVE NEVER GOT MY APPETITE BACK. I am now classed as underweight. I have absolutely no interest in food and have to force myself to eat. I now have very low blood pressure. This is a nightmare. Am I just going to shrink away? I’m living off protein and meal replacement shakes because I find it so hard to swallow food. And part of me feels like I deserve it. I’m catholic. Wil it end? Does anyone else know of this happening?!!! Is it my fault?

I'm fairly sure the Catholic Church doesn't have a position on weight loss drugs. And we can be sure that the Bible is silent on the subject. Honestly, if God were going to punish people for weight loss drugs, there would be a lot of very sick people. Nobody is suggesting, for example, that elective surgery to fix my ugly looking bunions was sinful. My mother was raised Irish Catholic but had not a shred of Catholic guilt, was a lapsed Catholic for over 60 years and died in her late 80s. Seriously perhaps you could talk to your priest or confess or something if it would help.

It's the catholic thing of being sinners🙄so many catholics blame themselves for everything - DH has it (I don't so I tried not to let our DC's have it)
As for the injections - every medication has side effects and as these are fairly new we are still to find out what the less common ones are.
There are reports of ozempic babies where the contraceptive pill isn't absorbed.

Boomer55 I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a similar thing when my mum dies when I was 15. I think I have always had a complicated relationship with food. Gosh, losing a pound a week is a lot though, and quite a bit of time has elapsed. Have you tried ramping up the calories with complan? You might even be able to get it on prescription? I really hope that the situation resolves itself quickly. You must have loved him dearly ❤️

Once you lose your appetite it’s so, so, difficult to get it back.

I’ve never had fat jabs, but I lost 7 stone after my DH died - stress vomiting followed by a complete lack of interest in any food.

I was a bit lardy when he died, do I wasn’t too bothered about losing some weight.

Nearly three years on, I’ve been told, by my GP, I need to get some weight on, and more importantly, to stop still losing about a pound a week.

I literally force myself to have some breakfast and at least some soup and a roll in the evening. I also have a yoghurt a day if I can.

That’s the best I can do. Just try and build up to some “proper” food.

The GP can prescribe you nutrition shakes for this purpose. Taken twice a day with milk to get your calories up. I think they’re about 350 calories per sachet.

I can swallow liquid and small amounts of very chewed up food.

Please ask your GP about a test for H pylori as lots of GPs miss it.

How are you doing op? I’m dealing with this now after 6 months on WLIs. It’s getting me down.
