I was 27 when DS1 was year 1 and 29 with DS2. I was one of the younger Mums though.

Whatisthisperihell · 10/12/2025 21:04

I'm 41 and one of the oldest at the gate. I'm closer in age to some of the grandparents there to be honest.

Stressheadshouldbeinbed · 10/12/2025 21:06

I’m 45 and my eldest is in Y1. By the time my youngest is, I’ll be 51!

vintageboymum · 10/12/2025 21:07

58, haven't been mistaken for a grandma yet( I don't think!). There's a big mix of ages, but quite a few are 44 +.

mariemarie2011 · 10/12/2025 21:07

I was 27. Feels like so long ago!

Bowling4soup · 10/12/2025 21:07

I’ve got 1 in reception and 1 in year 2, I am 35

BerryTwister · 10/12/2025 21:08

I’m a September birthday.
When DS1 started year 1 I was nearly 43.
When DS2 started year 1 I was nearly 47.
I was definitely at the older end of the spectrum for DS2, but not especially for DS1.

midlifemumma · 10/12/2025 21:08

I was 25 when my first was in year 1, 30 with my second and will be 43 and 45 with my third and fourth!

ladygindiva · 10/12/2025 20:35

I was 42 when mine were born. During first term of year 1 I turned 48 🤣

I was about the same - and wasnt the eldest mum from that class

StampOnTheGround · 10/12/2025 21:10

I’ll be 34 and 37 when my kids are in year 1. August birthday, so I’ll only have just turned 34/37!

Mithral · 10/12/2025 21:10

I was 41 which was pretty average - nearly everyone at least late 30s. Oldest person I knew was 50.

Anononony · 10/12/2025 21:10

35, but he's the second, my eldest is in y8

Porkpiesarespicy · 10/12/2025 21:10

Almost 44 with a child in year one,

Potaytoecake · 10/12/2025 21:10

Nearly 40… and I’m definitely one of the oldest.

Travellingatthespeedoflight · 10/12/2025 21:11

DTs are in Y1, I am 36. Will be 38 when ds2 is in Y1, and 42 when dd2 is. I think I’m in the middle age range of mums in our year.

Lndnmummy · 10/12/2025 21:11

I was 45 when my youngest was in Y1. Completely normal where I live.

DarkLion · 10/12/2025 21:11

When my son was in year 1 a few years ago I was 26

How long is a piece of string?

With my eldest I was 22 as I had him young. With youngest I was 43.

And I can't say I particularly noticed the age of anyone else.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 10/12/2025 21:13

My eldest is in reception and I am 37. I will be 40 when my youngest is in year 1

123456abcdef · 10/12/2025 21:13

my youngest is year 2 and I’m 37

Namechangerage · 10/12/2025 21:13

38 with first and I’ll be 42 with second

bumptybum · 10/12/2025 21:14

Does that mean you were 37 when you have birth? It would be easier to just ask how many women were over 37 or 38 or whatever when they gave birth

Applesonthetree · 10/12/2025 21:14

I was 31 for my eldest and 35 for my youngest. Youngest is now year 5. I was quite average

Zelda93 · 10/12/2025 21:14

I was 48 when in year 1 .. my dd is in yr 2 now and I’d say that there’s another mum same age as me and then one that’s older and the rest are all in their 30s .

Katela18 · 10/12/2025 21:15

My eldest is in Year 1 and I’m 32
