Something that stays with you, or something that you reference all the time?

Mine is Autoglass Repair Autoglass Replace. Literally, the second my windscreen got a crack this week, I knew i'd just contact them.

They're actually just called 'Autoglass' as well, but i still say the full tagine for the fun of it.

Yorkie - never ate one!

WhenIAmKing · 26/09/2025 12:53

I saw the title of the thread and immediately thought Autoglass repair, Autoglass replace.

We pass one of their buildings often and DH and I both immediately sing the jingle when we see it, it’s a Pavlovian response.

Pomegranatecarnage · 26/09/2025 12:57

There was one that focused in on a sleeping man’s face and a voiceover said “tonight Dave will die in his sleep surrounded by his family”. Then the camera pans out and he’s driving a car with his family-I see it in my mind’s eye time I drive a long journey! And I never drive tired. Same with the kid getting trapped in a fridge, and Dark Water.

HermioneWeasley · 26/09/2025 12:58

Shake n vac

cook cook cook cook ability Thats the beauty of gas.

As a child there were various informational videos that have stuck with me. I always have a bucket of sand when I use a sparkler, I never return to lit firework, and I don’t go near train tracks. I had not (as yet), had to put the quicksand information into practice, but I’m prepared nonetheless.

Mumofteenandtween · 26/09/2025 13:04

”And all because the lady loved Milk Tray”.

What about the one with the shoe (was it a welly?!) getting cut to ribbons on the end of an escalator! I'm firmly in middle age now but still jump the last step to the ground to ensure my toes don't get cut off!

CornishPastyLover · 26/09/2025 13:07

I remember a quicksand advert from the 70's/80's, I've been terrified of quicksand ever since, even though I've never come across any lol.

OnlyYellowRoses · 26/09/2025 13:38

Can’t open a bottle of lemonade without humming ‘Secret lemonade drinker’ to myself.

KelsCommemorativeSausage · 26/09/2025 13:41

I've never bought anything, or not bought anything, because of an advert, but I remember them- Washing Machines Live Longer With Calgon, can get stuck in my head for bloody days.

PansyPotter84 · 26/09/2025 13:43

This ad campaign was on CITV non stop when I was a kid and I’m convinced it basically persuaded generations of parents since to normalise later potty training/ nappy wearing than had been the case up to then!

We Buy Any Car Dot Com

so successful that they dropped the words and just used the rhythm in later ads.

Firefly100 · 26/09/2025 13:54

I seem to recall reading that the Levi 501 adds from the 80s with Nick Cayman were some of the most successful ever in the UK.

For me the memorable ones were the Hamlet cigar adds and Carling black label.

😭😭 Is it, if in quicksand, don't struggle, or something?

Still waiting on it becoming a problem

What are they called now?

OP posts:
MatildaTheCat · 26/09/2025 14:06

@mumofoneAloneandwell I think they have the same name but in their advertising they don’t sing the jingle, just tap out the rhythm.

Upstartled · 26/09/2025 14:07

My ds was asking about old adverts the other week and it turns out I remember all the words from the Aquafresh song and the Milky Way, 'Red Car -Blue Car' song.

Danikm151 · 26/09/2025 14:07

The hedgehogs crossing the roads. I’m 34 and still remember them!

givemushypeasachance · 26/09/2025 14:11

Lots of great jingles from my childhood adverts - "the blue car and the red car had a race..." "if you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club...". I feel like chicken tonight!
