Something that stays with you, or something that you reference all the time?

Mine is Autoglass Repair Autoglass Replace. Literally, the second my windscreen got a crack this week, I knew i'd just contact them.

They're actually just called 'Autoglass' as well, but i still say the full tagine for the fun of it.

‘Oh look Joe, he’s waving at us’ 😄

Luckily I’ve never had to ring the Coastguard.

Full moon… half moon… total eclipse!

AllJoyAndNoFun · 26/09/2025 14:20

That DD one with the Shaggy Song- in the summertime ( have a drink, have a drive….) , where you think it’s gonna be an ad for a beer or something and then there’s a car crash

From my youth- Um Bongo and The Nescafé couple

marchmash · 26/09/2025 14:21

not really an ad campaign but the drugs storyline on Grange Hill. Utterly terrified me!

Don't you wish you had a Mitsubishi (every time I see one)

a lot that shamelessly used well known songs, like secret lemonade drinker or 'take good care of your gums, brush with mentadent P', or Coke is It.

My Mate Marmite.

That really annoying song of Wrigley's Spear, Wrigley's spearmint gum, cool fresh taste share it with some one'

Let's not get started on umbongo or he's had his weetabix.

showing my age.

marchmash · 26/09/2025 14:22

@AllJoyAndNoFun oh god the Nescafe ad was pure and utter genius!

brunettemic · 26/09/2025 14:23

A few that spring to mind - you’ve benn tangoed, the meerkat, milk tray, various Guinness ones (even though I can’t stand the stuff), milk/Accrington Stanley

If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club.
And
Only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate tastes like chocolate never tasted before. Looked so posh and decadent.( But it's probably the scantily dressed women eating them in an errotic style that means they still show up in some men's dreams)

Just say No! (Zammo)

OdeToTheNorthWestWind · 26/09/2025 15:20

I hesitate to say it, but for me it is Clunk Click, every trip. Me and my family have good reason to be thankful for the seatbelt advert campaign.
The reason I'm ambivalent about it, is that the campaign was headed by a certain Jimmy Saville.....

coxesorangepippin · 26/09/2025 15:39

Boddingtons one was pretty good

And the gorilla on the guitar for Cadbury

MNJury · 26/09/2025 15:42

There's an Australian one about crossing train tracks called dumb ways to die. The song and animation is top class!

I remember a quicksand advert from the 70's/80's, I've been terrified of quicksand ever since, even though I've never come across any lol.

Edited

there seemed to be a lot more quicksand around back then, going by childrens TV programs...😂

MNJury · 26/09/2025 16:00

I do have a nearly forgotten fear of quicksand which is being brought back by this thread and I can't remember that advert (although I probably saw it young and it's the source of my concern 😳). Anyway, could someone remind us what you are supposed to do in a sudden quicksand situation? You never know when these things will strike...

MrsAvocet · 26/09/2025 16:01

Well considering how many people still believe that Aptamil is the "closest to breastmilk" formula I'd say that their advertising execs are probably pretty pleased with the success of that campaign.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 26/09/2025 16:02

The Cadbury flake one was sung by Dave Lloyd and I remember him singing it in the pub, god I feel old.
