Something that stays with you, or something that you reference all the time?

Mine is Autoglass Repair Autoglass Replace. Literally, the second my windscreen got a crack this week, I knew i'd just contact them.

They're actually just called 'Autoglass' as well, but i still say the full tagine for the fun of it.

Trumps "She is for they/them, he is for you" adverts are thought to be what tipped the election in his favour. So I'd day world wide, them.

UniversityofWarwick · 26/09/2025 17:58

"My name? Oh yes! It's J. R. Hartley."

”And all because the lady loved Milk Tray”.

As a child I thought that was so romantic. Now!! Red flag stalker

AutieAdult · 26/09/2025 18:02

Remember Nicole and Papa but not the car without looking it up

2025mustbebetter · 26/09/2025 18:03

Accrington Stanley...who are they?

RoverReturn · 26/09/2025 18:05

They were talking about ads on radio 5 and the presenter was saying how naff the Shake n Vac and the R Whites Lemonade ads were. I think he was missing the point - they're very catchy , v recognisable, they worked on radio as well as TV.

Anyway- shake n vac was effective, in that I bought it at the time.

MiceAsPie · 26/09/2025 18:08

’Julie knew her killer. He sat up and killed her and then sat back down again’

about the mum driving with her two teens in the back not wearing seatbelts

Cattenberg · 26/09/2025 18:09

If I remember rightly, sales of Shake n Vac increased massively when the ad was on air. So it was a successful ad regardless of whether people thought it was naff.

I checked which car the Papa and Nicole ads were advertising. Yep, it was the one I thought it was. I know nothing about cars, but that message got into my brain.

1980s. AIDS: Don't die of ignorance.
We all shit ourselves even though we were years away from ever having sex! Certainly made me cautious.

DollyPinkDaydream · 26/09/2025 18:15

Have not had a chance to RTFT, but this looks a good question so I will…

Mine is Flik Flak watches. They’re still on billboards all over the world and whenever I see one I sing “flik flak are water resistant, flik flak are shock resistant, flik flak flik flak flik flak are swiss made!”

never bought one though!

Flatandhappy · 26/09/2025 18:18

Many years ago when Virgin Megastores were a thing their “no Virgin, no Christmas” campaign was genius. It was banned in Ireland where I lived!

Yes, this is so true! I showed it DC and they were 😯

OnceIn · 26/09/2025 18:25

The seatbelt ad where the child in the back didn’t wear one and killed their mum by hitting the back of her head/seat. Even my kids at the time would mention it as soon as they got in the car.

OnceIn · 26/09/2025 18:26

Harry coming out party

Absentosaur · 26/09/2025 17:10

Who are they?

Exactly! (Assume that was the response you were looking for!)

CrispsAreLush · 26/09/2025 18:41

The 90s seatbelt advert. A child in the back seat is thrown forward in a crash and kills the passenger. There is a cry and the voice over says something like that is the sound of him dying. The sounds still stays with me. I NEVER go without a seatbelt now.

GingerPaste · 26/09/2025 18:43

InTheWellBeing · 26/09/2025 12:42

Yorkie - never ate one!

😂

That's the one it was awful ad. It did work though

RedRiverShore5 · 26/09/2025 18:47

The Campari advert with Lorraine Chase, Nah, Luton Airport

EXACTLY!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 26/09/2025 17:37

😭😭 dunno

I could Google but I will live with the mystery

Sounds like a solicitors maybe?

🤣🤣🤣

they’re a football team. A rubbish one 🤣

the advert was for milk and implied if you didn’t drink milk you’ll end up playing for a rubbish team (like Accrington Stanley!)

5128gap · 26/09/2025 18:55

Levi 501 with Nick Kamen/Eddie Kidd. As if by magic it was out with the zips and Y fronts and in with buttons and boxers.

ColinVsCuthbert · 26/09/2025 18:57

Comparethemeercat.com comparethemarket.com. Loved that little guy!

exLtEveDallas · 26/09/2025 19:03

In 1997 I bought a Ford Puma solely based on the advert (Steve McQueen driving through SanFran).

I had a VW Golf on order, a week or so from
picking it up, having spent weeks researching what I wanted, what was best for me etc (my first ever brand new car and I wanted to get it right) only to be seduced by the advert shown on Sky during a break in the footie.

Hadn't seen one IRL, hadn't had a test drive, hadn't even checked I could insure it!

3 weeks later I was bombing down the M5 to my mums, in what turned out to be only the 3rd Melina Blue Puma in the country! God I bloody loved that car, drove it like I stole it years

People are a lot less comfortable with being told what to do these days. Mind you, it worked!
Fortunately the Aids denialism movement fizzled out.
I was shocked by this though https://medium.com/the-monthly/the-foo-fighters-aids-denialism-should-be-on-the-record-6e33666fdc3c
