Why are so many men perverts?

I just got sexually harassed by a tarot card reader. The most bizarre place to be sexually harassed! It was at one of those walk in places near a beach

He was looking at the cards, talking about my relationships and he said "it looks like you are single ". I said ""yeah i am i want to be single i don't want a relationship reallly'
He said "oh yeah you can just go out for a few shags that's just as good".
I was taken aback. He said again "you can go out and have a good shag'
I said "no i dont do that".

He then said "did someone just die. " i said "yes my dad'
He said 'i bet you were a naughty girl for your dad. You naughty naughty girl'.

I said "im leaving". What the fuck!

Last week i was at a poetry group. We all wrote and read out a poem. The women all wrote about families , love , beach walks etc.
The man wrote "a funny poem (his words)" about his testicles and sex. No one found it funny.

In my last workplace two of my male colleagues were "joking" about masturbating. I felt a bit sick

No woman I know, goes out to pull all the time

I’m on your side on this thread, and hate it when people say women are just as pervy/abusive etc

BUT I do know many women who go out to pull, it’s part of the night out starting from being young and beyond.

ruffler45 · 24/05/2025 09:59

Some men are such creeps

That just about sums it up in a few words. there are some "normal" men still out there.

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 24/05/2025 10:00

Men are just primates, locked into primate ape dominance patterns, and since neither thought nor intelligence are valued nowadays their animal selves are being unleashed.

That sounds exactly like the kind of language that incels use when talking about women.

Whats your definition of pull. Because it can mean to find someone to have sex that night with.

If you mean just to go out and flirt and chat with men, yes everyone does that

Maybe I have a "don't mess with me face"?

Or maybe it is because of where I live - rural with not great public transport, so I mostly drive. When I get the train I have my head stuck in a book.

Our village streets aren't teeming with people and it is usual to his hello to anyone you walk past whether you know them or not. The only time I come across lots of people is at work, in town or the supermarket.

Those are the places it happens though. Commented whispered in supermarkets and walking along the road, uncomfortable staring, men waiting outside a shop for me to finish so they can say something, as I get older I see more how insidious it is.. we’re just lumps of flesh being hunted.
I have a resting bitch face and sadly it doesn’t put them off
Have you always had cropped hair, no makeup, more masculine clothes? Just trying to think what triggers them into being like this as I assumed it was the same for every woman, and just being near a female makes them feral.

RampantIvy · 24/05/2025 10:07

Larna4t · 24/05/2025 09:26

I think the men can also sense weakness and they prey on more vulnerable people.

I had a very abusive childhood and no love at all. So i have low self esteem.

I read an article where a rapist said he always went for women who had low swlf esteem as they were more likely to blame themsleves

Did you have a good loving childhood?

I think you are right and yes, I had a happy and secure childhood with two loving parents.

I have also been happily married for over 40 years and probably look unapproachable because I stride purposefully walk confidently and have an air of "don't mess with me because I won't take any bullshit".

I wasn't always like this. It took many years to feel this confident.

Yes to have sex with. It was happening when I was young and still happening now, many women do want no strings sex. Not saying all women at all, just saying it does happen. But not to the level men do it.

I look nothing at all like that description, and that's my point, it's REALLY not the same for every woman.

The only unpleasant encounter I have ever had in supermakets are people being too slow or in my way.

Im 41 and i have a lot of female friends. When we go out to bars, we go home afterwards. No one ever talks about "pulling men for sex". Ever

The single ones may talk about a man theyve met in a hobby group and have started to date.

But how many times have how many of them been attacked in the streets, or harassed by groups of women?

Try watching that video I linked.

@Disturbia81 I have short, not cropped hair that is styled. I wear very little make up but usually have lipstick and earrings on when I leave the house of I am shopping or going to work. I usually wear jeans or trousers, but wear dresses in warmer weather. I don't look masculine at all.

I am pretty flat chested though and no strange man has ever tried to grab my tiny boobs. I also wear glasses.

So maybe it is the classic glasses and flat chest that keeps me out of trouble?

TrishM80 · 24/05/2025 10:48

Ridiculous thread. Every weekend in every town in Britain, we see gangs of screeching hen parties marauding through the streets with an assortment of penis-themed paraphernalia, and sexually harassing young male waiters, bartenders etc. That's pretty perverted, no?!

Yep, ‘Trish’ my arse.

teksquad · 24/05/2025 11:01

Trish. LOL.

Hen parties are vulgar, not perverted. Its men that hire prostitutes, use OF, dress up as young girls, rape children etc. Some men definitely are perverts, not all of course, but it is definitely a male sexuality issue.

We see you.

TrishM80 · 24/05/2025 11:05

Oh yeah, that's your go-to response, "spot the manz"...😂

I'll call out hypocrisy and stupid generalisations wherever I see it.

3678194b · 24/05/2025 11:07

It's no coincidence that in this country we have whole male prisons that house only male sex offenders. In total that's thousands of men jailed for these offences.

There are no female prisons just for sex offenders, then again I read that of all prisoners, females only make up 3%.

The generalising is you stereotyping women as ‘screeching’.

Next you’ll tell us we’re being hysterical.

Maybe, its really good to hear some women don’t go through it as it’s not a nice feeling. Knowing we’re being so observed and analysed. These men think we like it as they’d love it to happen to them.
Evolution really was having laugh making the sexes so different

The implication being that a non-strange man has tried to grab your boobs 🤣. Only with your consent obvs!

I’m on your side on this thread, and hate it when people say women are just as pervy/abusive etc

BUT I do know many women who go out to pull, it’s part of the night out starting from being young and beyond.

Women don't generally do this when they're married though. Men do. (Most of them.) When a hetero couple partners up/gets married, the woman generally settles and doesn't want to go chasing after other men. Men aren't like this. They still have a wandering eye, they still flirt with other women, (and make lewd remarks...) And the women still have other men letching at them, making lewd remarks, groping them, and insinuating an affair... even when the women themselves are married.

I had this shit happen to me from my mid teens to my mid 40s. (Even when I was married!) Men hitting on me all the time, and most of them mid 30s or older, and ALL married/in long term relationships, and they often had children too. Some of these men knew I was married; they were neighbours, work colleagues, and even so-called friends of my husband.

I have NEVER gone out hitting on other men, shagging other men, flirting with other men at work, and trying to get a shag out of anyone. Nor have I ever 'discused my labia' or rattled on about how hot this man and that man is, and how they'I'm so horny I could shag anything. And no woman I know/socialise with does this either. I don't know what kind of women @blubbyblub knows, but I'm very glad they're not in MY social circle. They sound fucking grim.

@Larna4t OP, you're right, many men are abolute perverts, and it doesn't stop when they get older either. I'm in my late 50s now, and get men in their 70s hitting on me, making suggestive remarks, and thinking their luck is in. Doesn't happen as much as it used to when I was younger, but it still happens. I had one man (around 70) desperately trying to push a bunch of flowers on me in the high street some months back, saying 'your smile makes my day my love.' Legit following me around for about 10 minutes (around 15 years older he was.) I managed to lose him in a shop. A couple of days later I saw him the the market with his WIFE. Absolute scumbag.

Anyone saying 'oh but women are just the same - or worse- is 100% gaslighting ... No WAY are women like men, just because you get tshe odd hen party marauding through Blackpool. Incredibly nonsensical and ridiculous comment. As has been said, it can only be a man saying this. No way would any women thik like this.
