To be getting second hand embarrassment because my DH is wearing sandals!

For the first time since I’ve known him, my 43 year old DH has bought himself some sandals. I don’t know why but they make me cringe. I think sandals on men look so naff and ‘old man’.

I’ve put a photo of the pair he has bought on this post.

I think you're being unreasonable OP, why shouldn't men have their feet open and get some fresh air on them? Much better than stinky, sweaty socks at the end of the day.

If he's otherwise a great husband, can you bring yourself to ignore how upsetting you find them?

Who do you think is noticing his feet? I doubt anyone is.

At least he's not wearing crocs.

Eww sorry they aren't the best looking footwear! If it was me I would tell him outright to return them immediately but dh and I always insult each other 🤣

They look practical. I’ve seen men and women wearing various sandals today and they look comfortable. Who cares (I note this is not S&B where people really do care).

I fully accept it absolutely is unreasonable, but sandals on men give me the heaving ick too.

There’s no rhyme or reason to this at all, but to me they just look really unmanly on all but a vanishingly few men. Barefoot is fine, so it’s not that I’m squeamish about feet, it’s the sandals!

Chuff me, can you imagine if a man wrote this about something boring that his middle aged wife was wearing. It’s absolutely boiling OP, I doubt he will be wearing them often.

Sandals on men look pretty cringe imho. I wouldn’t tell DH what to wear on his feet, but I’m glad he doesn’t wear sandals.

Yeah they aren’t great could you get him some Birkenstocks instead I always think they look good with a nice pair or denim shorts or chinos?
