Mark Carney taking on Trump

Fighting talk from Mark Carney today. He will win the trade war with America. Blames Trump entirely for this trade war.

He will apply from today 25% surcharge on energy to the 3 US states they supply. Means around 100 dollars per month per family in those states.

Trump is a buffoon as well as a bully and people will not tolerate his actions.

I think it’s Doug Ford putting the levy on electricity since he’s the ON premier.

As a Canadian (living in the U.K.) I repeat myself often with this point but it should be noted that the boycotts everyone is seeing from Canadians has more to do with Trump threatening a sovereign country with annexation than it does the tariffs.

The trouble is Mark Carney is solid existing establishment. And there are issues with poor management, chronism and too many people who have been promoted to protect the status quo rather than do the right thing.

And Trump is trying to establish a new establishment in which discrediting the old establishment is the goal with a view to replacing it.

Carney very much ticks the boxes that Trump WANTS to highlight.

Yes he's thick as shite. Just look at the things he says, doesn't sound statesman like at all, or even like an educated normal person. He was never a 'successful business man' as they tried to spin it ihn 'The Apprentice', he took the company his father had built and managed to get it into trouble many times apparently.

At 79,yes he could well be starting to get dementia. He seems almost unhinged and to have deteriorated over the years.

He's also just a vile man, and a liar. Evil really, but sadly he has managed to hoodwink a lot of the dumber Americans. But with his lack of intelligence I do wonder if he is just a puppet for more sinister forces behind the scenes.

I feel so sorry for all the decent Americans of which there are many, who never wanted this.

It's a risky move from Carney.

Yes he is standing up to Trump and being confrontational. But Trump has far more power in terms of economics and Canada are on their own.

To date most of the middle sized countries (UK, France, Germany, Italy etc) are appeasing Trump and trying to work with him rather than taking a confrontational position against him.

My guess is Carney will either end up as a hero or the idiot who ended up trashing his country in a battle he could not possibly win. We will see which.
