I'll start. Sorry for sticking it here, posting for traffic.

Didn't fancy turkey this year so did a beef wellington, with mushroom duxelle & Parma ham inside.
Goose fat roasties with garlic salt and rosemary.
Cinnamon red cabbage
Pan fried sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta
Normal carrots as my 4 year old won't eat them any other way
Pigs in blankets
Homemade yorkies
Waitrose bought stuffing as I don't really like it that much.

Topped with an orange gravy with a red wine stock pot shoved in.

It was delish. Ate early-ish as I have to eat with medication. Thought I'd get in early and ask you all to share your lovely Christmas lunches!

Also highly recommend the meat from Waitrose butcher counter. It's lovely.

I haven't even put on my dinner yet! Im half considering not bothering. My 9 Yr old woke me up with a stomach bug at 4:30 and has been puking and sleeping alternately since. The other DC stuffed their faces with mince pies and chocs while PIL visited. DH couldn't care less. I'll let you know later if I decide to stick it on around 4!!!!

Yum yum, thanks for this, reading your menu, reminded me, I had chopped garlic and onions in my freezer, I ve just sprinkled a heavy amount of both on my roasting potatoes. It's starting to smell divine. Yummy! Have pre-cooked goose fat potatoes too (but need the others for the vegetarians).

I just need to reheat the meat. And cook the fish (salmon in garlic butter). Might crack on with my veg now.

Mashroom · 25/12/2024 14:15

We won't have ours until evening time so nothing cooking yet although dh has made a pot of veg soup

Sprig1 · 25/12/2024 14:23

Yours looks delicious. We aren't doing Christmas until the 29th so I have just had baguette and home made lemon curd for my lunch. It was lovely!

Natsku · 25/12/2024 14:26

This was eaten yesterday, as that's our Christmas. Traditional Finnish Christmas dinner - ham, potato casserole, swede casserole, blazed salmon, cognac salted salmon, pickled herrings, beetroot salad and just out of shot were the breads - a pale Christmas bread (sweetish bread, made with buttermilk) and some dark gluten free archipelago bread (dark and malty and lovely with pickled herring)

That looks great. I love how you have portioned it out. If DS wasn't puking I'd be doing similar. Xxx

We had roast lamb. Potatoes. Parsnips and carrots. With baby sweetcorn, broccoli and sprouts. Stuffing and Yorkshire puddings. Followed with lemon cheesecake.

I've only just put the beef in the oven. I'm aiming for 5pm so I'll come back after that with a hopefully lovely pic.

Mashroom · 25/12/2024 14:58

Having gammon with honey and mustard glaze, roasties, carrots, pigs in blankets (non negotiable) and stuffing balls. Really looking forward to it but more looking forward to my sticky toffee pudding trifle for pudding later 💔

TheChosenTwo · 25/12/2024 15:14

It’s cooking, we eat at 5 but this was our beef!
MN is asking me if this is a sensitive image, I suppose it might be to vegans/veggies…

Didn’t take a picture of my whole dinner but I did take one of the amazing roast potatoes. My DH cooked an amazing dinner, roast beef, Yorkshires, veg and toast potatoes.

@fuckmemytoehurts do you not have anything green at all when you do a roast!?

I read fried sprouts but can't see any green

Toomanylosthours · 25/12/2024 15:26

40plus years on this planet and today I've cooked my 1st Christmas dinner minus the turkey. Catering for my FIL at his house having lost MIL earlier this year. I generally dislike the cooking, sitting around waiting for life to pass by and much prefer to be on holiday or in our campervan. Beef, gammon, maple glazed veg and more. Now for the port 😁 all worth it to see my FIL half smile, hear his memories. 71 Christmas MIL & FIL spent together.
