I'll start. Sorry for sticking it here, posting for traffic.

Didn't fancy turkey this year so did a beef wellington, with mushroom duxelle & Parma ham inside.
Goose fat roasties with garlic salt and rosemary.
Cinnamon red cabbage
Pan fried sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta
Normal carrots as my 4 year old won't eat them any other way
Pigs in blankets
Homemade yorkies
Waitrose bought stuffing as I don't really like it that much.

Topped with an orange gravy with a red wine stock pot shoved in.

It was delish. Ate early-ish as I have to eat with medication. Thought I'd get in early and ask you all to share your lovely Christmas lunches!

Also highly recommend the meat from Waitrose butcher counter. It's lovely.

'It's not about watching the five a day, it's about a plate full of stodge not being very pleasant without some greenery to help it along, carrots, red cabbage and potatoes aren't greens! I've never seen a Christmas dinner without peas before!'

@SparklyTurtle

Well I chose not to have 'boring' greens on my plate and chose colourful veg instead. Sorry that you didn't approve.

No pictures but we had a starter of smoked salmon, prawns in sauce, large shell on prawns and a crab and salmon terrine with crackers and various breads
Then chicken and/or lamb, gravy and a red wine jus, mint or cranberry jelly, home made stuffing, pigs in blankets, mashed potatoes, carrot and swede mash, broccoli, sprouts and leeks in a cheese sauce
Enough leftovers for 2-3 days
We didn’t have a dessert as yet, but will be a choice of Waitrose red velvet dessert, panna cotta, Xmas pudding or cheese and biscuits

I have the Waitrose red velvet dessert and can confirm it's lovely! It's quite cheesecakey but very nice.

This was DS's plate.
Turkey wrapped in bacon, two different stuffings, pigs in blankets, home grown green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, red cabbage, parsnips, sprouts with chestnuts and Yorkshires made by DS. There was a vegetarian roast for other DS.
Mine had much more gravy on, I like my plate to be swimming in gravy.
Followed by also home made chocolate cheesecake.

I always forget that everything takes longer to cook in an oven that's full of stuff.

We are it before I could take a photo, roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, carrots, broccoli, sprouts and cabbage with bacon, roast spuds, gravy. Was delicious. But I'm v v full up.

Mirabai · 25/12/2024 17:58

Mine’s currently digesting.

Stuffed Turkey crown
Second stuffing with chestnuts, cranberries etc
Pork and herb chipolatas
Devils on horseback
Bread sauce
Gravy
Delia Smith cranberry relish
Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips and carrots
Brussels

Christmas pudding with Waitrose fresh custard or brandy cream

Sagedragon · 25/12/2024 18:10

We had smoked chicken for starter, then stuffed chicken parcels, carrot & turnip, sprouts, broccoli, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, stuffing and pigs in blankets. Also got chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream for dessert, but will have that later this evening!

I've never known anyone from real life or even on my social media to have peas... must be a regional thing, carrots, parsnips, Brussels, maybe cabbage, only roast potatoes and no yorkies either.

Vegan Christmas dinner ❤️🌱

What is the main, nut roast? Looks lush.
Mine was an 84p Pukka vegan pie from the reduced counter at Tesco 😂 but I have flu and not much of an appetite...

Biffbaff · 25/12/2024 18:17

Beef Wellington
Homemade Yorkshires
Cauliflower cheese
Carrots
Roasties
Sprouts
Parsnips
Pigs in blankets
Stuffing balls
Gravy

And my husband did all of it and cleaned up too! All I made was the Yorkshire pudding batter (yesterday)

I am soooo full 😋😋😋😋

Table booked for 8oc. Having a tapas feast in Southern Spain. Starving, we only had egg and toast for breakfast and a yogurt with raspberries about 3pm.

😱Peas have no place on any roast dinner, never mind Christmas dinner!! This is my hill that I will die on.

Peas??? On a roast..?? Just no!

Jellycatspyjamas · 25/12/2024 18:31

I ditched the planned turkey - will cook it later tonight and use it for parts.

So we had baked ham, roasties, maple glazed carrots and parsnips, red cabbage, pigs in blankets, stuffing balls and I made a cider cream sauce to go with. It was bloody delicious and no poorer for not having turkey. Started was pate and Melba toast, and dessert will be ice cream with toffee sauce - no one wants the sticky toffee pudding so we’ll have that another time.

Since we’ve moved and I’ve returned to working full time, my spread has been greatly simplified. This year was ham with a cherry chili pepper glaze, mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted sprouts and red pepper and creamed corn.

Ohhh would you mind sharing the cherry chilli pepper glaze? Sounds amazing

mrpinkwhistlescat · 25/12/2024 18:35

Some of the beef looks very rare, as if a good vet would have it back on its feet.

DogInATent · 25/12/2024 18:46

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 25/12/2024 15:29

Looks good op but is there nothing green?

Calm down Kermit...

Nothing green on our table either. Prefer red cabbage to either green cabbage or sprouts.

Joey35 · 25/12/2024 18:47

We had;

Chicken
Ham
Roasties
Yorkshire puddings
Braised cabbage
Brussels with bacon and chestnuts
Carrots
Broccoli
Bread sauce
Cranberry sauce
Gravy

(Not pictured: pigs in blankets, stuffing and little sausages)

Was delicious but far too much! she says about to go for round 2

Mirabai · 25/12/2024 17:51

Doubt it - look at all the Yorkshire puddings!

Definitely southern England, traditionally in Yorkshire the Yorkshire Pudding is served as the starter with gravy and never alongside the meat! My late and very traditional Yorkshire gran would have never served something made in a muffin tin!

Gonners · 25/12/2024 18:53

Peas are out of season.

Sunbeam01 · 25/12/2024 18:54

Here is mine... minus sausage meat, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding.

I can't move. Merry Christmas all :)
