I'll start. Sorry for sticking it here, posting for traffic.

Didn't fancy turkey this year so did a beef wellington, with mushroom duxelle & Parma ham inside.
Goose fat roasties with garlic salt and rosemary.
Cinnamon red cabbage
Pan fried sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta
Normal carrots as my 4 year old won't eat them any other way
Pigs in blankets
Homemade yorkies
Waitrose bought stuffing as I don't really like it that much.

Topped with an orange gravy with a red wine stock pot shoved in.

It was delish. Ate early-ish as I have to eat with medication. Thought I'd get in early and ask you all to share your lovely Christmas lunches!

Also highly recommend the meat from Waitrose butcher counter. It's lovely.

Several plates with no gravy here. Unacceptable.

@fuckmemytoehurts do you not have anything green at all when you do a roast!?

I read fried sprouts but can't see any green

I mean I don't class today as a day for concentrating on the 5 a day.. but we did have sprouts, cabbage & carrots. 3 lots of veg. 4 if you count the spuds (joke)

40plus years on this planet and today I've cooked my 1st Christmas dinner minus the turkey. Catering for my FIL at his house having lost MIL earlier this year. I generally dislike the cooking, sitting around waiting for life to pass by and much prefer to be on holiday or in our campervan. Beef, gammon, maple glazed veg and more. Now for the port 😁 all worth it to see my FIL half smile, hear his memories. 71 Christmas MIL & FIL spent together.

Well done, this looks beautiful!

Only took photo of Yorkshire puds as partner asked me to.

Wowza, now that’s what I call a Yorkshire pudding!

Natsku · 25/12/2024 16:44

Christmas is not a time for greens

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 25/12/2024 15:29

Looks good op but is there nothing green?

we had sprouts. Other veg was red cabbage and carrots.

I think with a beef wellington 3 lots of veggies plus potatoes and all the rest is more than enough

Husband did a cracking job this year. 10/10

That cauli cheese looks amazing! Could eat a plate of that on its own..

Here’s mine, Roast Turkey, extra large pig in blanket, roast potatoes, mashed carrot and swede, pan fried sprouts with bacon and chestnuts and a Yorkshire pudding 😋
followed by an individual homemade trifle as I’m the only one that likes it 😂

Trifle is my absolute favourite. Such a good classic!

Roast looks lovely!

We have
Roast beef
Roast potatoes
Reindeer julepølse

Elg kjøttboller (moose meatballs)
Gravlaks
Sennap sild
Rødkål

I'm loving seeing these roasts from around the world. So interesting. Looks amazing, I'm especially intrigued about the goose meatballs. Happy Christmas!

First Christmas at home (have travelled to see family for the past 12 years!) so we pulled together:

Turkey, with pork and cranberry stuffing with bacon
Pigs and blankets
Stuffing balls
Roast potatoes and parsnips
Carrot and swede mash
Carrots, broccoli and peas

All in a big Yorkshire pudding! Photo is of DH's as I didn't have a whole one and it looked better in a whole one!

I'm thinking these are from southern England generally? Just a thought from the general paucity of gravy!

I'm from Surrey :)

I'm amazed at that yorkie, omg!

How on earth did you get it that size? Or if bought, where from? The amount of sausages that could be stuffed in there 🤣

Merry Christmas!

Fellow ND household here - love those plates! Where are they from, if you don't mind me asking?

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 25/12/2024 16:58

First Christmas dinner I’ve ever on my knee on a tray! At home alone with ddog. All family been rather ill and I didn’t want to catch it! First Christmas Day I’ve ever had on my own. I did drop off meals on wheels to mum earlier and met pal for dog-walk. Also had online meet-up with son (abroad) Now lying on sofa underneath a blanket and ddog watching what I want to watch on my own TV.
Don’t like Christmas but had to have the food! I will be spending tomorrow with relatives playing games. I can do that bit but struggle with the other stuff.
Dinner was blood gorgeous - made it all yesterday so just a pop in microwave today 🙂
