DH pisses around toilet

PissoirPissedOff · 28/11/2024 21:20

We moved into our new home and the first thing I did was to clean the bathroom, including disinfecting the toilet area which was covered in mouldy spots. Within about an hour, DH had pissed all over the rim of the toilet and the floor just under the toilet had a small puddle of piss. I have asked him not to do this, just to wipe it dry when he misses the bowl. He says this is not his job.

I'm not particularly OCD about this sort of thing, I just like a clean bathroom and would prefer to clean it just once a week rather than daily/hourly.

I AM being unreasonable = This is beyond the scope of what is expected of a normal male in his own home.

I am NOT being unreasonable = Why can't he just make that small effort (quick wipe with tissues) so that I don't have to clean the toilet every day, and to save me getting my toes wet in a puddle of his piss?

It's not his job!!

Fucking hell are you the house skivvy then, whose fucking job does he think it is dirty bastard.

PoshCoffee · 28/11/2024 21:22

If it’s not his job, he must think it’s your fob to wipe up his piss? What else is your job? All the household tasks and the childcare??

Katemax82 · 28/11/2024 21:23

That fucking disgusting! If HE passes all over the place it is HIS job to clean it. If he refuses, wipe chocolate spread on the seat so he thinks it's shit and say it's not your job to clean it off

mossylog · 28/11/2024 21:23

He says this is not his job.

It's every adult's job to clear up after themselves in the bathroom, not leave puddles and skidmarks for everyone else to deal with.

EsmeSusanOgg · 28/11/2024 21:23

If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweet and wipe the seat.

He is a grown up - I presume without care needs? - so he needs to clean up his own pee.

Disturbia81 · 28/11/2024 21:23

Sorry but just from that one line I can see he is a horrible person.

moggerhanger · 28/11/2024 21:24

You've got yourself a prince there, right enough.

username8348 · 28/11/2024 21:24

I'd drop kick the twat from the front door.

PigInADuvet · 28/11/2024 21:25

I know leave the bastard is thrown around a lot of mumsnet, but "He says this is not his job" would be a marriage ender for me

Raffaelli · 28/11/2024 21:25

Is he a child? In fact even my 6yo lifts the seat and wipes the bowl when he misses (mainly because he gets embarrassed which your DH should be too!). Stale urine smells disgusting, this is so grim OP.

JumpstartMondays · 28/11/2024 21:25

There are some gross partners on MN tonight 🤢

Your DH sounds worse than my toddler.

Scammersarescum · 28/11/2024 21:27

Ask him why he thinks it's your job to wipe up his piss?

Then leave him because he very clearly doesn't like, love or respect you

MemorableTrenchcoat · 28/11/2024 21:28

YABU for even asking AIBU. Why would anyone think his response was remotely acceptable?

My husband does this and it is making me balistic! I send him back to clean it. He normally does it after few beers, but he quite trying not to otherwise. But I will go crazy one day too!

Couldn't have put it better myself.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 28/11/2024 21:29

Put his favourite t shirt on the floor near the toilet. That'd sort his aim out.

Lollypop25 · 28/11/2024 21:29

Surely you don't need to ask this. He should be ashamed.

Whose job is it exactly?

When he goes to work whose job is it?

To a friend's house? Not that I think a pissy bitch like him deserves friends.

Pinkissmart · 28/11/2024 21:29

Why does he think it’s your job to clean his piss? Have you asked him this?
Please say you haven’t had children with this awful man

ObliviousCoalmine · 28/11/2024 21:30

If it's not his job, whose job is it to clean up his pee?! Ask him outright. I would love to know the answer he comes up with.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 28/11/2024 21:30

It's not his job?!?!

What a fucking waste of space he is.

I'd be telling him in no uncertain terms that his piss is most definitely his job, and if he doesn't want to clean it up he can either piss in the toilet, not on the floor, or he can move the fuck out.

Thatdarncat44 · 28/11/2024 21:30

You have married a beast.

Chetto · 28/11/2024 21:31

He sounds awful 😣 I’m so sorry but he has zero respect for you

Yep, this one.

LostittoBostik · 28/11/2024 21:32

Not his job?

I hope you're renting. If so: leave. Now.
