Given that Trump is elected.

I mean it's a strong response, but do what you want with your holidays!

Personally it won't stop me visiting the country, I don't tend to check into the White House for my stay so I think it'll be okay.

Feelingstrange2 · 06/11/2024 07:47

As a protest? Or because you think it will be less safe or something?

Differentstarts · 06/11/2024 07:47

I think your over reacting I don't think you will bump in to him while your there

TheaBrandt · 06/11/2024 07:47

Abit silly!

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 06/11/2024 07:48

Yanbu at all. I wouldn't be setting foot in a country that had just elected a leader with fascist tendencies.

SassK · 06/11/2024 07:48

🙄

Itsagreatdaytosavelives · 06/11/2024 07:48

we were making plans for next October. but was always dependent on a Harris win. genuinely can't comprehend how anyone votes for a rapist

pizzaHeart · 06/11/2024 07:48

It depends when you are visiting if next week - I understand

MovingTooFast121 · 06/11/2024 07:48

My brother is in Canada. I was hoping to convince DH to do a multi city trip, ending with Vancouver. Think we’ll just head straight to Canada now.

ForgottenPasswordNewAccount · 06/11/2024 07:48

Yes, I would.
Same as I would not visit Dubai

MinnieMountain · 06/11/2024 07:49

I’d possibly avoid the US for the next few days, but otherwise go.

LeighaStand · 06/11/2024 07:49

Maybe, unreasonable, but feels very unsafe. Very unwelcoming, very divided.

Not a country I want to spend time in.

StopPinsAndNeedles · 06/11/2024 07:49

It's good news for women, now that we will have the definition and safeguarding back.

World war was on the cards regardless, it's bad news for Europe as Putin will push pass Ukraine.

JoJothegerbil · 06/11/2024 07:50

I have no desire to spend my money in a country run by a rapist, woman-hating monster. I'd not go either OP.

But you obviously did when you booked it. So I wouldn't let this stop you.

Eyesopenwideawake · 06/11/2024 07:51

I have family there but won't be visiting during his term - we can always meet up in a third country.

distinctpossibility · 06/11/2024 07:52

Not unreasonable. I won't go to Dubai for political reasons. Not sure how I feel about USA at the moment.

Clearinguptheclutter · 06/11/2024 07:52

I’d go to a blue state. I have plenty of US colleagues and almost without exception they are going to be in despair. A lot of the US continues to loathe Trump.

Jowak1 · 06/11/2024 07:52

It's not as though you are going to meet him! USA is a wonderful country to visit and I think you would be cutting your nose off to spite your face personally! Go enjoy!

GreyCarpet · 06/11/2024 07:53

Don't go then. I don't suppose they'll care particularly.

I wouldn't go for a few reasons but I've never considered I might be unreasonable for making a personal choice on countries i travel to 🤷🏻‍♀️

ExtraOnions · 06/11/2024 07:53

Nah …. I wouldn’t go. It’s not a particularly safe country anyway, a mass shooting a day in enough for me. You’ll now have Musk picking apart any government agency’s.

mitogoshigg · 06/11/2024 07:53

I won't be going any time soon, things could get a bit crazy for a few weeks. That said it would have been potentially more disruptive if the results were different because we know who are sore loosers

IVFmumoftwo · 06/11/2024 07:54

I wouldn't go if I was pregnant to be honest.

Good news for women?????????

TheChosenTwo · 06/11/2024 07:55

It’s never really been on my list but you’re not unreasonable to go somewhere you don’t want to go. Thinking about it, what made you think there was anything unreasonable about it?! 😂
