Given Imane Khelif has lost some matches, there isn't a massive difference in strength between them and the top female boxers. Women boxers will be much stronger than the average women and probably the average man. As I said, women boxers have been killed after being punched by women.

I agree that if its true its cheating, I agree that they should loose their medals, its definitely a scandal, should be investigated. But I also believe that publishing these details from a leaked, unconfirmed report is an affront to the dignity of all people. There is nothing like this outrage when boxers fail drug tests even though drugs make them stronger and more aggressive and definitely more likely to hurt an opponent. In reality, as far as I know (happy to be corrected) they haven't actually hurt any one more than boxing always hurts and damages people. No one that I can see online blames them for their retirement.

Khelif lost matches at an early stage in his career when his lack of skill and technique was less offset by his male advantage, which will include increased punch power, fast twitch muscle, denser bones, higher haemoglobin, the Q angle demonstrated every time he walks and so on. At any rate, the fact that an exceptional woman can beat a non-exceptional man like him does not negate the reality of male advantage and nor does it make it appropriate for him to fight women.

Even just the average height difference and arm reach length difference will give men a massive advantage. I'm a bit over 5 2"ft, how could I box a 6ft 2" guy? I would have a better chance with an average height woman though.

So? Boxing has an element of strategy about it, not just physical strength. It's entirely possible for a man to occasionally be beaten by a woman. But as someone who has boxed, on average even an untrained male could knock me into the middle of next week without trying too hard. Yeah, I might be able to land punches or make the most of a mistake but even as a woman who does a lot of weight and strength training I'm still nowhere near the strength of the vast majority of men.
