To think that people who spend £45 on a Stanley cup need their heads examined?

More specifically for a primary aged child who is likely to lose or damage the cup? £45? Absolute madness. Some parents just can’t seem to see their kids go without the latest trend.

Probably just a trend like Air Up (which were an expensive load of crap!!). People can spend their money on what they like though

My dc still loves his air up. Went from frequently being dehydrated to drinking water happily. Totally worth it!

Choochoo21 · 07/06/2024 18:15

It’s ridiculous how much people will spend just to fit in.

Its quite sad really.

These people must know that they can get a very similar product for less than 1/3 of the price but they can’t bring themselves to buy something different to the latest fad.

The word sheeple comes to mind.

Persimonne72 · 07/06/2024 18:19

How do you recognise it is Stanley? I have identical mugs from Costco. Two for £18 . Brand: Reduce.

The market is full of them from various brands

LuckySantangelo35 · 07/06/2024 18:28

Drinking out of a Stanley cup all the time will give you mouth wrinkles

Nah, I've got loads and my head is perfectly fine! Would also buy for a child 😂

My water intake has never been so good! It's also a fantastic thing to take on a walk, packs a punch so a great defence item haha

I’ve heard people say before that having one means they drink more water. Why is that? What is it about it that means you drink more?

Every Stanley quencher has a unique code on the bottom and a batch number , year of manufacture etc. this is for the warranty and you have to submit photos of faults, photos of this unique warranty information and then they replace your product free of charge.

This. The classic MN attitude that nobody is allowed to have nice things if not everyone can have them

Like private school 😂

LivelyTraybake · 07/06/2024 18:52

I’ve never had so much water spilled in my year 6 classroom as I do now they have Stanley style cups.
they get knocked over like all bottle do and rapidly pour what seems like gallons of water over the desks ruining work.
Sports bottles for school, it’s not a fashion show.

I believe you but OP surely doesn't run to each kid to check for such detail.

Wtf is a Stanley Cup??

People can spend their money in whatever way they like, it’s not for you to judge. I bought myself one and it’s great - keeps ice frozen for 24 hours!

Of course people are welcome to judge, it's a flask not your first born child.

Sound absolutely fair enough to me tbh.

How is it with hot stuff? 🫣

I’ve got a knock off and curious if it’s worth it looking for a sale 🤣

do long trips and would love to put a hot coffee that stayed scolding hot!

Agreed. As long as they are not borrowing money from you it's not really an issue.

Meh.
People have been spending "too much" on low level luxury branded goods for ever. Nikevtea

... accidentally posted too soon.

Nike trainers not for doing sport; Calvin Klein boxers rather than M&S etc
For me it's bikes.
Each to their own.

Are they “nice”? Round here they’re owned by the fishlip brigade. Not something most of us aspire to.

They’re massive, good quality and therefore keep my drinks cold + icy all day which is what I care about. If you have an issue with who perceive to be a typical Stanley cup owner then that’s your own problem. Being blatantly classist + judgemental (over a bloody cup of all things) isn’t something most of us aspire to be, in fact it’s really quite a sad reflection of you.

eggplant16 · 07/06/2024 19:41

Whats a fishlip? Is it like a trout pout?

Can't enjoy nice things or the overweight frumps who think they're kate middleton in their boden sacks will judge you 😂

ThePoshUns · 07/06/2024 19:48

That's sheeple for you 🙄

How could an overweight frump think they were Kate ?

Helengreggregson · 07/06/2024 19:57

My child isn’t in school yet but YANBU. I’ve seen them. They look sh*t. Why do they cost so much money ?

stressedespresso · 07/06/2024 20:07

Dramatic · 07/06/2024 13:31

I bought my 3 kids one each for Christmas, they were £12 from tiktok shop, genuine Stanley's. I wouldn't have paid £45 though. To be fair they still use them every single day 6 months on

I wouldn’t let anything from TikTok shop go anywhere near my mouth, never mind my DD! There have been numerous products (water bottles included) sold there which have contained dangerous amounts of lead and carcinogenic chemicals. It’s all fake, cheap rubbish

pictoosh · 07/06/2024 20:14

People are easily persuaded.

They are stupid cups.
