We had the case here were it took a year for a woman on a mixed sex hospital ward to get the police to take her rape seriously. Although the trans woman hadn't gone through surgery, the hospital told the police that she couldn't have been raped because their wasn't a man on the ward at that time.
It seems that some people are waking up to how ridiculous it was to remove all safeguards in the name of respecting a person's chosen gender. The NHS etc shouldn't use sex and gender interchangeably.

Not just women/ children's rights, also worker's rights.
Tories : health and safety at work , accident cover /holiday and sickness pay/maternity pay/right to strike/protest will go if they get re elected as well as making you work till you drop dead. Will be very much like America where they have hardly any holidays and work very long hours.

I completely agree OP, but it seems to be what most younger women want. I only hope when future, more sensible generations of women have to start the fight for their rights all over again, women will value them more next time around.

I just saw a thread on Twitter in which women were happily saying how fine they were with males going into gym, etc changing rooms.

I honestly do not understand when it was that so many people decided men were no longer a threat to women. We went from 'Me Too' to 'Nah, there's no problem!' within a few years.

But that is not what this thread is about and Labour will win the next general election anyway. Look at what is happening in Scotland with the hate crime and public order bill. I think Labour will introduce a similar bill to the Uk and there are certain groups who would like to see gender legally recognised instead of sex. So yes, I think women’s rights are going to be diminished.

That’s because this ideology is being pushed and promoted in the universities, in schools and through the left wing media.

It's a toxic debate not because its difficult but because not being in favour unleashes a tsunami of hate and people have lost their jobs. I think of it as a series of questions to work through:

Are you OK with men who claim to be women being in women's single sex spaces - starting with public toilets and going up to women's domestic violence refuges, secure mental health hospitals and prisons?

If not, why not?

Do you draw the line at the person (men who haven't had surgery are banned) or the place (no men in a place where women are trapped)?

Why are you so concerned with the man who claims to be a woman? Why aren't you concerned about the many women that person could upset, discomfort or terrify?

What if the woman exposed to a man who claims to be woman in a supposedly safe space is actually a girl? Is it OK if she's 12 year old? 8 years old? 6 years old?

Do you have the right to consent to a mixed-sex space on behalf of every woman?

Another reason why we're supposed to be okay with it is that (according to the indoctrinated) they're not men. They're women, so of course they pose no threat. 🙄 And because theoretically a woman could hurt another woman, what difference does it make? It's insanity. I honestly thought, a few years back, that people would stand up to this nonsense once it got to a certain point, but now I'm not so sure. Too many are buying into it, leaving the next generation uneducated in what was once the most basic science.

@passthepenguin well we cannot be sure that Labour will win the general election. I have been here before. In 1992 and in 2015, we thought Labour were going to win the General Election. Yes The Tories are fecked in the polls but I can't be sure that the won't make a comeback. Basically as a pretty poor women, I would say my situation is that I am screwed either way but I will hedge my bets with Labour. I might be able to eat a bit better and maybe less black women will die in child birth. It's shite situation all round. The SNP are a disgusting authoritarion party who have conned Scotland.

All this has been happening under the Tories though so what will be different?The Tories have reduced safeguarding in local authorities, have allowed schools to buy in services for their own sex education (with concerning results in alot of causes - hello Stonewall), have continued to fund the likes of Stonewall very generously as a government quango, not to mention Gendered Intelligence, Allsorts etc, we have also seen how the NHS has been allowed to be semi privatised and Stonewall etc influence policy within that; indeed a woman was raped while a patient and told she couldnt have been as no male had been in her ward (or something like that ) ,turned out she was gaslight as a trans woman - a male patient had indeed been present on her ward and she alleged was the person who raped her . This has happened underthe Tories.

Im so fucking sick of having to repeat this but here we go again...The reason this shit has "happened under the Tories" is because its a global trend which has taken hold in almost all developed countries. It was going to happen whichever party was in power. There has, at least, been some push back under the current government (Cass review, clarification of the Equality Act etc).

I believe protection of womens rights and an exploratory approach for people experiencing gender distress will be much less likely with any other party in power at Westminster apart from the Conservatives. You can choose to put your fingers in your ears or decide that other issues are more important but dont kid yourself that womens rights arent going to be fucked under Labour.
