Did you go to school with someone famous?

I mean someone who was famous back then, not someone who became famous more recently. Child stars, athletes, children of celebrities...

How did they act? Do you think the fame affected them?

Various members of the Byker Grove cast. Up themselves.

SoupDragon · 19/03/2024 14:56

what article is this for?

flowerflowflowering · 19/03/2024 14:58

I'm honestly curious! Why are people assumed to be journalists in so many threads?

randomchap · 19/03/2024 15:00

One of the local div 1 football team manager's boys came to my school.

He was shit at football but did love other sports. Wonder if his dad's job just put him off it

RampantIvy · 19/03/2024 15:01

Nope, not in my school. A guy some years above me become a singer/musician(not super famous) as adult, but he wasn't famous as a child, though.

No. I even went to drama school and noone was famous, lol. One girl in my secondary school year was in a Tampax advert. Geri halliwell pretended to go to my school though. God knows why, lol.

CaveMum · 19/03/2024 15:03

One of the girl's in my DD's current primary school class was in the Morrisons Christmas advert last year. The fame hasn't gone to her head - yet 😜

idontlikealdi · 19/03/2024 15:04

A couple. One was a league one or whatever it was then manager's daughter, she was in my class. Completely normal lovely family.

flowerflowflowering · 19/03/2024 21:13

You don't have to mention names if you don't want to, just the "kind of fame" they had :)

I was at school with lots of kids of famous people (80s pop stars, a very famous model, and randomly a former communist dictator. That made a bit of GCSE history awkward).

They were mostly all very normal, by the standards of my school. But it was a posh and arty madhouse!

Containerhome · 19/03/2024 21:21

Yes and no. Cheryl bakers daughter was a few years under me. Cheryl thought she was the bees knees.

passthepenguin · 19/03/2024 21:24

Yes I did but it would be very outing for me to say who it was.

ZenNudist · 19/03/2024 21:26

Kate Winslet
She was a laugh

passthepenguin · 19/03/2024 21:27

They became famous as a result of a sport they initially did as a hobby. They were known in our local town for this hobby. They left school to pursue this and one day I turned on the tv and there they were.

Thepowerhouseofthecell · 19/03/2024 21:28
