To ask the worst thing you've ever eaten? (lighthearted)

Again with the food threads...as much as I love hearing what people like, I also love hearing what people hate!

So, what is the one (or a few) foods you tried and thought were vile and would never try again?

The main one that springs to my mind is whelks. wtf even are they meant to be? Its just impenetrable rubber with no taste...lol.

So, share your revulsions or argue the cause for something unlovable?

As a student a weetabix sandwich after having no money for three weeks.

Calentita, a thick pancake made from what tastes like wallpaper paste, it's actually chick peas and olive oil, very popular in Gibraltar, it was made for me as a guest of honour as I'd never had it. Never has something made me gag, another person advised me to drown it in ketchup!

Raw sea urchin. Like a fishy salty blood clot. And I was then allergic.

I love seafood, but Oysters were disgusting. God knows how they are supposed to be an aphrodisiac! 🤢

Meatloaf.

Mac&cheese. Can’t stand it

Pork belly

Chicken feet. DC love them, but nope! All the bones!
Had Lotus flower stems a few weeks ago in Thailand which was weird - I liked them but they had a very sticky stretchy goo that came out and was a bit off-putting.
Personally can't deal with the giant tapioca in the bubble drinks either. You keep chewing, it still tastes of cardboard and then just stays in your mouth while your jaw aches trying to wear it down to a swallowable size.

Lambs testicle. Weirdly fishy.

Tripe. Is. Grim.

Anything wih lemongrass in it. 🤮

Durian fruit. Tastes like what your black bin smells like on a hot day.

@gymbummy OMG I love razor clams! do you dislike other seafood? I've only had them cooked with loads of garlic etc though, haha

oh god eel. cls easily throw my guts up the memory.

Globe artichoke, yuk. Also fennel, but I don’t like aniseed.
Otherwise I will try anything.

Couple mentions of tripe...I would be too scared to try the fucker! haha.

Andouillette. Smelt of shit. Taste was similar.

@winniethepooped I tried the durian ice cream and I could only describe it as frozen creamy stilton cheese. Love the fact all the hotels we stayed at had signs banning durian fruit as it's so antisocial to eat!
